There is no subjectivity when it comes to Lil B. He is terrible, end of story.

If people want to listen to Lil B, that's fine, I won't but what weirds me out is that all the people who like him act like he just provided mana for all the land during a famine when he drops a track. Every time he does, we see "thank you based god for this deep and powerful based music." Just a little creepy to me personally.

But y'all keep doing what your doing though.

        2. Nicki Minaj. Just....LOL. I'm not sure if she's even taking this serious but she's such a magnificent troll that people seriously bump her music and think she's saying something. Just...LOL. Her track "Stupid Hoe" trolls the entire gender of women..yet I see other women bumpin that **** and taking it to heart. LMAO .

        3. Bad Meets Evil. Royce and Eminem is the best thing since Peanut and Butter combined to form Peanut Butter. So many ridiculous punchlines in a single song. Most of them absolutely hilarious.

            Day old at the most.

Not really a "new" mixtape like 11.1.11 was, but more like just some older tracks thrown on there.

I think many of the older guys don't want to associate themselves with the radical youthful, positive, up-and-coming hip-hop artists/movements (A$AP Mob, BasedWorld, Black Hippy, Danny Brown, OFWGKTA). These guys are transcending the game, and I think many fans of the genre see staples of their culture (soulful hooks, the "boom bap" instrumentals, the baggy clothing) wither away, or "die", and look at what was once getting play on the radio stations. They compare it to what they play now, and dismiss anything that bears any similarities to some of the recycled crap on the radio today.

There are a lot of untalented, wannabe, copycats out there, and Lil B is not one of them. It's no mistake that he's come as far he has.

I really don't like arguing over anything that's completely subjective anyway; what you enjoy is up to you.

Who do you listen to, by the way?

The thing I bolded was that whole lyrical thing. Dude sucks. Not saying he can't spit something clever, but overall...he sucks. He's the equivalent of Big Sean.

Also, Black Hippy, and OFWGKTA in terms of music are not upbeat. Black Humor can't ,by definition, be described as upbeat. The topics guys such as Lamar and Q talk about aren't upbeat either. They are very serious (unless Q talks about his blunts).

The only one who even remotely comes close to being what Lil B is is Asap Rocky. But, the difference between those two is that Asap actually puts out good music (His production is insane IMO).

                BTW I listen to:

                Eminem
Lupe (Farenheit mixtapes at the moment)
                Busta Ryhmes
                Royce Da 5'9
                ASAP Rocky
                Cool Kids

That's it. I might bump to a certain song every now and then (Like "Headlines", and "Shot Caller") but that's it. Those are the main artists I keep in rotation all day everyday.

His lyrics are absolutely horrible, his voice is annoying, and his flow is bad. Even his "serious" songs have lyrics that sound like he went to an open mic night at a coffee shop and wrote down what he thought was "deep". There's nothing positive about his stupid *** lyrics or him making songs called "violate that bitch". I have no problem with stupid and entertaining rap but please stop acting like he's transcending anything. The whole weird for the sake of being weird thing was done long before he came around, it's just another iteration on something that has happened. He hasn't changed anything or done anything new. And if you really want to say that he's promoting anything positive, then you need to go look up what positive really is. There's nothing positive about promoting stupidity.

Unless everyone's in on the joke/troll.

                      Lil B = Nicki Minaj

Same amount of talent, just one's a woman, is crazy, and thus gets more fans.

On an unrelated note I would like to state this.

There is nothing more terrible than a boring artist. If you're terrible, at least you have provided us ample laughs as we attempt to explain just how terrible you are. When you're boring....no one's interested.

Why do you have to be so harsh on a creative act? Your and my opinion mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Nobody is just "weird for the sake of being weird". Past experiences lead a person to act a certain way.

I don't even think jmood likes hip hop, every time I see a post of his here he replies to a music/link and just lets us know how terrible that artist is.

I'm not going to get into the discussion about what makes Lil B so great. Most people here have their minds set, they don't want to like him.
