Birth/George Washington: Rakim (obviously not really, but I'm not listening to anything further back than that)
    Growth/TJ: Jay-Z
Development/Teddy: Lil Wayne (personal pick, moved the whole game online, pretty much defined the way I listen to music)
    Preservation/Lincoln: Kendrick

I feel like Jada is smoking Fab’s boots. Jada joints just hit different. And I love Fab too!

        I agree.

Jada had a plan and stuck to it. Fab jumped around too much and tried to switch it up. Jada tracks synced together. Jada won that IMO and most if not all those tracks were mostly 15-20 years old. So he has some recent tracks in the bag. But Fab did good tho. Got me wanting to add some of these tracks to my phone lol

Using the meanings helped me. Rushmore isn’t my 4 favorite presidents so I didn’t bother trying to figure out my 4 favorite rappers. Saved me a lot of time lol.

That's all I have though. Outside my favorites I'm no expert lol. And I can't justify to myself to put Mos Def up there for three albums. Or MF Doom for a two year stretch. Maybe make a case for El-P, but then we're looking at just or primary rappers. Wu-Tang is a wrench. GZA, Method, and Ghostface are all up there, but picking one? Not to mention my 80s research is minimal outside BDP, ATCQ, and a little Eric & Rakim.

I really need to go through the Rap Yearbook.

If I were just doing a Wu Tang Rushmore, it would probably be RZA, Meth, Raekwon, and Ghostface. They’re more George Mason level to me than George Washington.

I’d swap GZA for RZA but I’m with you on the rest.

I'd swap out GZA for Raekwon. Gotta keep RZA. He's the backbone.

I’m looking at more from an artist standpoint lol He’s the backbone for sure though and a genius in his own right with production etc

Ah yeah. I forgot we were talking strictly rappers originally. So that makes sense.

                        Mine would probably be:

                        Rakim
                        Jay-Z
                        Andre 3000
                        Kendrick

I thought about putting Nas in place of Jay-Z as an extension/refinement of Rakim, but Andre 3000 and Kendrick hit those boxes (probably not as well as Nas, but still). Even as not much of a fan of Jay-Z I can still rattle off handfuls of songs off the top of my head that I've enjoyed throughout my lifetime.

I need to put somebody in Rakim’s place but I’m in 100% agreement with the other 3. I was a little hesitant to put Kendrick there but you can’t deny his greatness.

                            Jay
                            Nas
                            Big
                            Kendrick

When it comes to telling a story AND having lyrics, can’t go wrong with that.

I love 3 Stacks but I enjoy his earlier stuff “more” than I do his stuff on Stankonia, Speakerboxx/Love Below, Idlewild.

I could see swapping Rakim for Dre, Jay for Nas works, the best Wayne swap is probably Em but the idea of him on a hip hop Rushmore is abhorrent to me. Could go Dre, Biggie, Pac, Jay. Andre 3000 is a great rapper to me but I don’t seem to see what his fans see in him. His God status is my mind is half because he’s so great and half because he’s a meme.
