I don't know how I forgot to mention Michael C. Hall as the Riddler. I would love that. He's got the personality to be "dark" enough for Nolan's Gotham, but he's also got the kind of sense of humor on Dexter that would help keep him separate than the Joker.

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
The only problem though is he might get type cast. I think he will be a good Riddler, but I might be seeing too much Dexter, if you know what I mean. Maybe it can work. I like him in Dexter a lot.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
It would seem like a big cameo appearance than the actor truly getting lost in the role. That's why guys like Depp and Hall would not be the best choices and definately is something that Nolan is trying to avoid as evidenced by his unconventional choice of Legder.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
If Hall was unknown then he would be a good choice but he is so ingrained as Dexter it would be a disservice to the movie itself as this franchise would become like the prior Batman franchise where villians were played by famous actors in what seemed like giant publicity stunts by picking the hottest actors at the time like Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones and Arnold where the fame and reputation of the actor overshadowed the role itself and were just chosen to guarantee box office #'s.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Yeah
I could see that argument used against Depp, but Ledger was much more famous than Dexter.
Hell, I wouldn't have known who Michael C Hall was if I didn't see the Dexter reference.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
Good story, and certainly the look of the Hush character fits the Nolan-verse, but like you speculated it just seems too big. It's also a story heavily rooted in the comic mythos (Lazarus pits, Jason Todd, Thomas Elliot) and translating that to the current films would leave it a shell of itself. If we had been introduced to the Elliot character in Batman Begins or The Dark Knight then it would have a better chance of working.Comment
