Most of the villains mentioned wouldn't be too bad, I just don't want them to carry their alias along with it. Batman is different, and even then they call him "the bat man" for the sake of not knowing his true identity. But again, if they're going to run around saying things like "Poison Ivy is at it again!", it just wouldn't seem right with the way the realistic vibe this franchise has taken. We would have to call her Pam Isley (sp?). Even Harvey didn't go by "Two-Face" later on, but it was obviously hinted at that's who he became.

I also cannot see the Penguin as it's just too unbelievable that some short runt could matchup with Batman and destroy Gotham.

The way the Penguin is portrayed these days as a power broker within the Gotham underworld he'd be a GREAT foil for Batman in the movies. You don't have to be some strong musclebound man take down a city as corrupt as Gotham is. It'd be a battle of wits moreso then a battle of fisticuffs.

Yeah, in the current Batman world Penguin is battling Two Face and Black Mask for control of the underworld. Thing is it would take a while to develop that. Could you just start the movie with Penguin running GC?

Batman is on the run from the cops, Gordon (with the Joker added in) helped pick apart the mob in the last movie, there's no one to really fill in within the Nolan Universe...so yeah, I'd say you could probably start a movie up with a scene focused on the Penguin explaining how he took over the crime syndicate/underground world of Gotham.

But the premise of Poison Ivy is very doable and, for me, preferable. Sure, it might be a little too similar to what they did with Ras, but I could see a much bigger scale than "turn Gotham into an insane asylum."

While true, you have to be somewhat physically imposing or present some sort of personal fear towards people. The Joker was crazy and knew how to push the right buttons to incite fear. Scarecrow could do the same thing with his spray/potion/whatever stuff.

As far as I'm concerned, the Penguin doesn't have any sort of intimidation around him. Maybe wit, but if they were going to go down the wit route, I'd go with the Riddler over Penguin...JMHO.

I don't know, i always found the original Danny DeVito played Penguin to be pretty intimidating, particularly when he bit that guys nose off.

That was all Tim Burton's doing. DeVito's Penguin wasn't that close to how Penguin had been portrayed in the comics and I doubt Nolan would go TB's route with that character.

that wasn't really the end goal of Ras and the league of shadows

Chris Nolan said that he will not have the Joker on Batman while he is directing. Its really a shame but totally understandable. The really sad thing is there is absolutly no way that Batman 3,4,5,7,9 or 22, there is no Way any batman, ever, will top the Dark Knight.

That's what I thought about the first one. But yeah I agree it will be very tough to top the last one. Everyone will have to turn in oscar performances to battle the martyrdom of the Dark Knight.

I don't know I think Danny and Jack did a great job with those villains and so did Tim with making them a funny dark kind of villains. I am curious to see how the 3rd one turns out. I loved the first too. But I am huge Batman fan. Mostly because if the Adam West show. I am not into the comic Batman. But the Adam West Batman Show was gold to me. Oh and the original Super Friends Batman, I even had the Super Friends toys they were actually dolls, but we called them action figures.

I honestly was talking to a couple of my friends about a month after Heath passed about Joseph G. Levitt looking like he could slip right into the role. According to IGN, he might be the Riddler. It might just have topping
potential.

If they bring the realistic insanity to the table like they did with the Joker, I could really see this getting good.
