This is something else he also confirmed wouldn't happen. You know what would be amazing? If there was footage left on the cutting room floor for TDK that has some more Joker stuff to put into this movie. Maybe it's a shot or two of him in Arkham with a couple of lines, who knows? At the very least, we just might get a Heath Ledger cameo and we don't even know it yet.

I agree, something like a scene where Batman visits Arkham and hears Ledger's Joker laugh would be a nice touch.

I could swear the whole point of the Harvey Dent funeral was to "cover up" the fact he had become two-face to the public.

Perhaps. I kind of assumed he was dead at the end though, just because Batman rolls over his lifeless face. I mean if he was alive, they would probably have him arrested. I know they can't exactly do that to cover it up, but are they going to let him run free again?

If I knew what they should do for this movie, I would tell ya haha but I just trust what they're going to do. I can imagine that it could start with Bruce out of costume, trying to cope living without his Batman alter ego. Then Gotham will have to realize that with the small crimes going on and such, he'll have to bring that positive image back to Gotham. Maybe Tom Hardy will be an investigator who's trying to figure out who Batman is singlehandedly, and cracks it out of Mr. Reese as a result. Maybe he even murders Reese and pins that on Batman as well, and then Batman and Gordon (who obviously know Batman didn't do it) try and uncover who the pig is that's doing this.

That could be a small bit of a larger movie, and we'll probably have to include the mob's uprising without Batman as well (perhaps helmed by a "Black Mask" type, who is all about dominance). It would also maybe be nice if the Joker's antics spawned a bunch of small timers running amok and trying to deliver chaos to Gotham in the beginning as well (kind of like the Batman copycats in TDK). But like I said in another post, it would be kind of cool if Tom Hardy was a League of Shadows member. I know they aren't about vengeance, but they will execute if necessary.

Basically, anything is possible. I'm kind of glad that a Riddler type isn't in this movie. I want TDK fans to realize that the series isn't just about the villains, it is also about Bruce and Batman as well. There was too much (albeit deserving) focus on the Joker while hyping TDK and he seems to be a hot button topic post-release, but let's just assume for a second that he can't be topped. So let's try and build this third movie, which hopefully concludes a trilogy, around Batman's arc which happens to have people who want his head as well.

Speaking of which, my friend gave me a good idea on how a Robin could fit into the movie. It's not like the Robin that you would think (or Nolan or Bale), so before you outrightly veto the idea, let me see if he can put the idea in text for me.

I don't know how reputable this site is, because frankly I've never been there before and I found the link in the sources section of The Dark Knight Rises's article on Wikipedia, but this appears to be a genuine interview with Eckhart. At least I have no reason to think it's fake:

Disappointed if it's just two-face again and no riddler. I have complete faith in Nolan though so i'm sure it won't be a let down regardless of what he decides.

Yeah I remember that being posted here awhile back.

I'm kinda starting to wonder why it's almost conclusive that "The Dark Knight Rises" means that Two-Face will return. IMO he won't. I won't mind if he does because I love Two-Face but from all the interviews and the way it looked like he died in TDK, I think he's done.

Bring in a Holiday killer type storyline with Catwoman. I'd enjoy that.

He could be used as Black Mask, or a relative of one of the Mob bosses, or any number of characters.

Hell, a Batman/Black Mask/Red Hood faceoff could be entertaining, but it would take some damn good storytelling to set it up in the beginning.



While we're talking about it....can we PLEASE get a real Batmobile?

I said this a few months back (or earlier, can't remember) but I think there will be.

I know I was expecting it in TDK after Bruce's mansion was burned in BB. I figured they would have a real Batcave and Batmobile, but they set it up for a real Batcave and Batmobile in TDKR, since the Tumbler blew up and I'm guessing with Batman "on the run" he'll be chilling in the real Batcave at the start of the new movie.

Oh ****, man. If Bale changes his Bat-voice up just a bit, and Nolan improves on the fight scenes in Inception with this...this movie could focus on Batman and be incredible.

According to IMDB cast list, it's rumored he'll be playing Det. Harvey Bullock.

Oh ****, man. If Bale changes his Bat-voice up just a bit, and Nolan improves on the fight scenes in Inception with this...this movie could focus on Batman and be incredible.

About the voice; I think if Nolan uses his voice in better situations (like in Begins) rather then just delivering dialogue it will help. The voice is good for quick bursts, rather than sustained conversations.

But yeah, I am interested to see how Nolan handles the fight scenes. Begins was adequate and fit the character, but technically was unfocused and too quick. They were better in TDK, I thought. Inception had some incredible fight sequences, so at least Nolan is still improving on that.

Either way, I fully expect this film to center around Bruce Wayne and Batman. I wouldn't mind if there isn't one major villian, but would be happy with 2-3 minor ones.

I actually thought the fight scenes, the voice, and the batsuit were better in Batman Begins.

I prefer the charcoal looking suit compared to the leather. (I know it was changed to allow Bale to turn his head, though)
