Nolan won't be involved in the JL film or the any future Batman films.

Even without Nolan, the blue print of how to write a Batman movie is there now. Gone are the days of goofy, stupid, Joel Schumacher and in with the new, darker style Batman.

Which is fine by me. This is the way all Batman stories should be told.

            Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Not all Batman stories need to be overly dark and brooding. There are great "campy" stories out there that are just as good as the overly dramatic stuff.

Nolan leaving makes sense. I didn't actually see him hanging around WB as the Comic Book Guy once he was done directing Batman.

Yeah, not all Batman movies need to be set in stone cold realism. There's a balance that has to be struck.

I've never really liked the idea of limiting the characters and villains that can be included, but at the same time I don't want to see some over the top Riddler, Bane, etc.

The Schumacher films aren't bad because they're light-hearted or campy, but because they're just bad films. They're way over-the-top and illogical even for comic books. There are some truly great things scattered about (Batman surfing down a dinosaur, Batman credit cards), but as a whole it was entirely too much. Plus, the characters and artistic designs sucked. The first season of Batman w/ Adam West did a pretty great job of being campy, but still maintaining a good dramatic element to the characters. Hell, everybody seems to overlook how truly campy Burton's movies are simply because of his art style.

There are ways to be fun and campy without sacrificing characters or story.

The first two Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies, basically.

The time on that poster reminds me... the longest wait for this film will be during the previews. 12:01 is a false start time.

                              Trailer #5 - Journey

Apparently shows footage from Begins & TDK before showing Rises. Haven't seen it myself but everyone seems to like it. So for those who are inclined to watch, please do tell if it shows footage not seen in the previous trailers/tv spots.

                                Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The film is gorgeous, sharply written, briskly paced despite an epic running time approaching three hours. The characters have depth and pathos, and the drama feels far richer than the usual hero-saving-the-world saga. The action reflects our own hard times as a masked terrorist lays siege to the masses in a sort of perverse Occupy Gotham City movement that pits the comic-book world’s 99 percenters against the rich and rapacious.

“I’m not saying this as a cast member. I’m saying this as a member of the academy. So far, it’s the best film I’ve seen all year,” said Anne Hathaway, who plays master thief Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.” ‘’He’s transcended the genre now. I think he’s shown that a comic-book movie can actually be epic, extraordinary cinema.”
