Just a FYI for anyone that might not have Begins and TDK on blu-ray, the steelbook versions are 9.99 at Best Buy and both come with $5 off of TDKR tickets.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
As far as for me the problem with the people who gave TDKR negative reviews is that they're not consistent. For example you can't say you didn't like TDKR because it had too much action and then like Avengers which has a lot of action those type of things don't make sense to me.....Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Mondo poster for TDKR. Whoever orders a poster before midnight will get one, but ordering is only open today.
Again, I don't feel like the negative reviews have been outright horrible. Most of them seem to make valid points (granted points that have been apparent in the previous two films), but I can see how Zimmer's score can be too heavy (because it was in BB and TDK) or how Bane isn't as thrilling to watch as the Joker.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I love how everyone (not on these boards) is freaking out over the few negative reviews. While they just toss aside the absolutely glowing positive reviews that are coming in great numbers. Somehow the vibe around the internet is that this movie is getting panned, because of a handful (literally) of negative reviews.
Honestly, some of those reviews I read boil down to "no Joker=blah" or you could blatantly tell the critic just didn't "get" this Nolan Batman universe from the start.
I truly believe this film will be an amazing closer to this series and for that reason, it probably doesn't "stand alone" as well as The Dark Knight did. Christopher Nolan has made two AMAZING Batman films and for me at least, really understands what makes this character and his universe so special. I can't wait to see what Nolan has in store for the finale.
I just re-watched Begins on BluRay and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement for this one.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I bowed out of this thread yesterday, so I stopped reading all conversations until the film comes up haha, but I just wanted to post the review roundup from RT:
The Dark Knight Rises is an ambitious, thoughtful, and potent action film that concludes Christopher Nolan's franchise in spectacular fashion, even if it doesn't quite meet the high standard set by its predecessor.
Anyway, end rant. I'm back out of this thread again. 38 more hours for me!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
