In some ways I like the full mask better than that thing he's wearing, that looks almost like it was maybe stolen from a predator.

The entire mask would hold back Tom Hardy's amazing acting

I will say the video quality is good, but the audio is just utterly amazing. Plus we also get the IMAX fluctuating aspect ratios.

Always wish there was that "non-switching" option.

Also, got to see screengrabs. No EE!

I for one love the switching. Especially on the imax scenes. Feels like I'm at the theater

I typically don't notice after the first 5-10 minutes of the movie.

Again, would just like the option.

You don't know how many people I showed TDK to I had to actually pause the film to explain what was happening with the shifting AR. They kept asking each time and I was like, ".... it just does, okay?" Some people who see it in IMAX don't even get it. Consistency isn't that bad of an option.

That's because the first 5-10 minutes contains all IMAX footage.

If you indeed saw this film in IMAX, there are two or three extremely disruptive moments when it goes from non-IMAX to IMAX within the same scene. Yes, it took me out when they happened.

Of any movie is what I meant as I was referring to the black bars. Even with TDK's IMAX opening I don't remember the switching being disruptive.

I like the switching but can understand why it can be disruptive. If only it were feasible to have shot the entire movie with IMAX cameras. That would've been amazing.

                            Gotcha.

It wasn't as disruptive in TDK because it switches to black bars during a night scene in the beginning. It's almost not noticeable that they make the transition on you. There is really only one instance it feels weird in TDK, and that's during the Lamborghini scene.

In TDKR, the times I felt it was really bad and noticeable was:

                            Spoiler

These weren't only shifting AR issues. Everything changed about the look, especially the first one I mentioned. It didn't even feel like it was the same scene. In regular theater, the change didn't look so bad. In IMAX, the quality of the picture and frame change (as well as the AR) was distracting, but definitely not detracting (as in, obviously the IMAX shots look so much better that there isn't actually any bad in including it, but anyone who saw it at an IMAX theater can't say the change wasn't "noticeable," even if it was for the better yet for the less consistent).

Don't make me sound more anal than I should haha. It isn't just a "Blzer" thing and options are always welcomed. That's all I'm saying.

Let me assure you that I would be less satisfied with a consistent 2.40:1 film only and no IMAX option. I just would like to see both. They did it for Revenge of the Fallen.

Ah so that explains the AR shifts.....

I always noticed it but then when it switched to IMAX I was like "oh action scene coming up" LOL

There's no Bane subtitle option. All or nothing.
