Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
They just opened up a new one less than a year ago in Harvey, Louisiana, and one of the two scheduled to close is in a pretty depressed area. That leaves this area with 2 stores within a 15 mile radius and 3 within a 40 mile radius.Comment

I went by tonight. The "deals" were underwhelming at best (20% off dvds/cds, 10% off most everything else).Comment

Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
On a side note, I recently went into one of the stores (which is not closing btw), and stood in line behind a guy buying a new computer. It's bad enough that they offered every service known to man (and had to explain what each was), but after standing there for fifteen minutes (only register open in front) the cashier tells me I have to go to customer service for checkout. I definitely agree with most of the sentiment about CC. They have great prices and selection, but in MOST cases their employees just don't get it.Comment

Jay, how close is the one on Veterans to you? I, like most people have THE worst customer service at my local store in Houma, but I have been tearing up the $10 gift card sales there lately. I would drive to Veterans if they had some good deals, that's why I ask what you know about the one on Veterans.

Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
Heads-up everyone. If you go to any of those CC that are closing. Be mindful that they actually are NO LONGER under the Circuit City store chain. They are a part of a liquidation company. The prices you see were set by the liquidation company & NOT by CC.
All Closing Stores WILL NOT honor CC Website or Circular Prices & also will not match any other competitor price...

The BestBuy on the New Orleans Metro Westbank area has been kicking CC's a$$ for a few years now, hence the closing. The new one is much better located and a Bed Bath & Beyond went up right next to it at the same time.Comment

If she's not TV savvy, and you can get a hold of one of those degaussing devices (looks like a big hoop that plugs in.... or maybe some are a wand), just use it the wrong way (i.e., run it along the screen until you get a mixture of R-G-B color spectrum and then turn it off before pulling it away from the screen).
Hmmm, come to think about it......Comment
