IMO, the quality of the last 3 weeks have been on par with the 2nd half of season 3. Best show on tv.

IMO, Claire is truly dead.

Okay, I'm more convinced than ever that the Losties have always been on that island.

Alpert said that if they cure Ben he'll be changed forever and not remember anything about the incident. He then brought him to that temple.
It's the same temple that changed how the French people acted after getting sucked in there by the Smoke Monster.

So I think that's what's going to happen to the Losties. They'll eventually be sucked into that temple, have their memories erased of their entire time on the island and then placed back on the mainland before they ever got on Oceanic 815.
The cycle will continue for eternity.

I think this is how it was always supposed to play out. If the Losties had never come back to 1977 then Syaid would never have shot Ben. And then if Jack had never refused to help him, then Alpert and the Hostiles would have never brought him to the Temple, changing him forever.
Those events created Ben into the monster that he is. He would have probably just ended up as a regular kid if this had never happened.

Ben is a beacon or proxy for the island. That's how he was able to communicate with Jacob. And it explains why Locke can talk to him too because he was grabbed by the smoke monster as well. He claims that it let him go, but how do we know that to be true? For all we know Locke's memory was wiped and he was altered as well.

Kate met Cassidy at a gas station where she was trying to hustle people for cheap imitation watches.
One of the men she was trying to husstle grew suspicious and became irate with her.
Kate saw this and helped her out by saying she'd love to buy a watch to make it seem legit and help Cassidy complete the con.

I thought this was a really weak episode. The whole Aaron thing was filler. They could have eliminated that portion weeks ago.

The whole Sayid shooting little Ben is just Hokie. From a writer's perspective Ben could have ended up on the verge of death and have to be given to the Hostiles for a number of reasons. Why have Sayid the trained assassin deliver a non-lethal blow?

So it would appear that the Losties are caught in some time loop paradox. My question would be at what point in time did they enter the loop because everything has a beginning. I don't think they have always been on the island for numerous reasons such as Alpert not recognizing them. And Jin learning very good English in 3 years between 1974 and 1977.

If what happened, happened, then we are just observing what already happened right now. Meaning the Losties have no free will. So no point in speculating should they do this or should they do that, they did what they did. If I understand this correctly so it more like you are reading a history book rather than watching action unfold real time.

Whatever theory of time travel they use, its going to work out because they can insert crazy variables like donkey wheels and magic temples and smoke monsters into the equation that scientists don't have access to.

Fantastic episode. The fact they are using Hurley and Myles' conversation to play off our discussions in trying to figure everything out... brilliant! That's great writing.

I love how they explained that Ben would forget everything.... but how would he remember his father and want to kill him?

The big question of the day for me is this: which Island are they on? We learned in one of the earlier seasons that there are two islands: The Dharma island and the one the others reside on.... how are they both on the same island right now? What's going on with the other island?

I was disappointed with that as well.
They made the absence of Aaron out to be a huge mystery and something I was dying to know.
Then they reveal what really happened and it couldn't have been more boring.

Actually, I'm just plain sick and tired of Kate and Jack. They're both super annoying to me and I couldn't care less about their storylines or background.

I'm excited about next weeks episode because we'll be back to 'regular' time and see what's happening with Locke, Sun and Ben.
I think we might finally get to see what the Smoke Monster is really about. I just hope I'm not disappointed.

Regarding the other stuff, I'm not ready to give up on my theory.
It would explain some things like the numbers. If Hurley, or someone from the Losties (or someone associated with them) was on the island years ago, they would be able to create that distress message using those numbers to help lead Hurely to the island.

Alpert might not have recognized them because perhaps his memory was wiped clean by the temple?
Or who's to say that Alpert wasn't an original Hostile either - much like the Dharma group.
Perhaps he was apart of the military at first, but there was already a group of Hostiles there that he joined?
And those Hostiles could have been descendants of the Losties who got transported back in time further before anyone had inhabited the island.

Yeah I love the Miles and Hurley combo, those two are great.

I think that whole Island thing may have to do with "moving" the island? Like maybe back in 1977 or whatever there was only one island but then something happens and it has to be "moved" again part of it shifts? Who knows, I gave up trying to figure out this show in season 3 and just let it play out.

I seriously wish they launch a new show when LOST ends featuring Sawyer, Hurley, and Miles. Those three just talking about crazy stuff happening to them on the island would be hilarious.

Does anyone remember the scene in which Locke is looking for Jacob's house right after he shot by Ben and placed in the pit? He runs across Horace chopping down a tree...Horace says something to him, his nose starts to bleed, and then the sequence repeats itself.

At the time, I had no idea what was going on. Now it almost looks like a hint that things are stuck in a loop.

The Hurley-Miles convo blew my mind as it reminded me of being here on OS, discussing/reading the same things. It seems as if things are coming together, but I anticipate more surprises to throw everyone back off track.
