Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
It's definitely Jack. Jack even mentions to Ben that it'll be difficult to get all of the Oceanic 6 back to the Island because Sun blames him for Jin's death.
Though, I don't think Jin is dead. Never will believe it. Dude jumped off the boat, he's out there somewhere."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I wouldn't mind if Charley was dead forever because I didn't like the druggie very much. Jin was awesome though, hopefully he's still around.
I want to see more of Charles Widmore too. We need more about his relationship with Ben.Comment

Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
Charlie became very likable in his last few episodes. I didn't care much for him before, either. But, once we knew something was going to happen to him, the writers did a great job developing his character and making him intriguing. I think Charlie of the Island was a very interesting character. Charlie's before the Island was pretty weak. Nothing to really feel attached to as a viewer with the exception of him being a drug addict, and even that was dragged on too long.
I'm interested in seeing how involved Charles Widmore becomes. I've felt that Desmond is more important than we know, and if that still holds true, then I'm interested in knowing what he and Penelope will be doing as Widmore's storyline grows."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
I agree on Desmond, he's one of my favorite characters on the show but I don't know if he has a 'big purpose' similar to Locke or Walt.
In one of the S5 promos they show him getting on a small sailboat and telling Penny he has to go back, so I assume he's rejoining the gang as well this season!"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
Just finished watching Season 4. We had a marathon on Saturday since we were basically snowed in. Can't wait for Season 5. I just wonder if two 17 episode seasons are going to be enough to wrap everything up. There seems like there will be a lot to cover:
1) What happened to those left on the island?
2) How do the Oceanic 6 get back to the island?
3) What happens when they get there?Comment

Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
Season 5 will definitely show us what happened to the people on the Island. I'm sure it'll also focus primarily on the Oceanic 6 trying to get back. I wouldn't be surprised if they get back a few episodes before the season ends.
Lost likes cliffhangers, and getting back is not a season ending cliffhanger. Getting back, and figuring out why they needed to go back...that's a cliffhanger, whatever that reason might be.
So, I think all of those questions will be answered in S5."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
The amazing thing about watching S4 on DVD compared to the first three is how quickly the plot moves along now. We seriously learn more in an average S4 episode than we did in all of S2. The first two seasons are so drawn out it is insane."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I'm anxious to get back into lost. I liked Season 3 more than 4, but both were very well done. 2 hour season premiere correct?Comment

Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
I have rarely seen re-runs of Lost. But, G4TV and AMC (I think it's AMC) have been playing re-runs of this and I just can't stop watching sometimes.
I know it's been going on for awhile, but I just keep coming back to it."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
I agree. I liked Lost during S1, but it lost its luster (for me) during S2. S3 brought me back as a rabid fan and I've never looked back. The last 15ish episodes of S3 is my all-time favorite "run" of any tv show.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: *** LOST: Season 5 Discussion***
Mos def, I think that's how most Lost fans feel. S2, esp when you go back and watch it on DVD now, is basically a waste of 24 episodes. Sure, you find out how/why they crashed and it introduces us to Ben and the others, gives us some more flashbacks, etc but nothing is overly important.
I also agree that S3 is still my favorite, I liked it more than S4 because I'm not sure how I'm going to like the flashforwards when it's all said and done. The S3 finale though, probably my favorite TV episode of all-time. Amazing stuff."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Exactly! My all-time fav as well. Both parts of Through the Looking Glass were awesome. I especially liked the closing arc to Charlie's redemption and the shock of it being a flash forward.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
