    Re: DIRECTV

Welp, here I was about to watch Sunday Night Baseball, then suddenly a screen popped up that said "Our contract with Disney, the owner of this channel, has expired."

Now, I just checked and I still get Disney Channel, which hasn't meant anything to me since middle school. Sadly, all of the ESPN channels are blacked out.

Shoot, they better negotiate something stat.

If MNF comes and there isn't a contract, I think it will be a while.

I've been holding out because of discounts but with the RSN fees being so high and most channels having no original programming, this may be it for me. I don't need the RSNs and watch nothing on them with all the non-pro teams moving to ESPN or other channels. I signed up for Youtube TV free trial and will see how that goes.

We switched from DirecTV to YoutubeTV about 3 years or so ago and we've never looked back, it's far better, and much cheaper without any problems or issues.

Definitely cheaper and I should be able to get 2 accounts down to 1 streaming with my network setup but better is subjective.

The cost savings will be tempting specially if there are no issues with my network VPN between 2 locations.

I watch ESPN on Sling but DirecTV lost the FXX channels so I was mad about that. I didnt even realize they were owned by The Mouse.

It's tick tock for me too at this point. Only originally got them for the NFL package so don't need that anymore.

DTV has filed a complaint with the FCC. It doesn't look like this is going to end quickly.

The $30 discount isn't going to keep people. Price is going up next month even without a contract and increase from a new Disney deal.

I've had no issues with the YoutubeTV trial, so probably going to drop DTV after a long time.

                  Glad it was resolved.
