        Avatar Theatrical Trailer

I am honestly liking it. Doubt it beats Titanic but it sure will rake in great cash. I hope the game is solid also.

Considering the huge budget for this move, it better rake in $300,000,000.

I think it's going to be a really good movie. I haven't seen any of the recent 3-D movies but will try to see this one in 3-D since Cameron seems so sold on the technology - and I want to see what his vision for the movie was. New trailer looks awesome

                re: James Cameron's "Avatar"

That trailer managed to both look absolutely amazing and epic - as well as cheesy and ridiculously stupid. Not sure whether I'll see it in theaters or not.

It looked great up until the silly avatars that just look ridiculous; and then the story looked like it got a little dumb.

I'm not feeling this. Maybe I should look more into it but that trailer made this movie look pretty dumb. Good for you and your special effects James Cameron.

                        re: James Cameron's "Avatar"

It sounds like Titanic in space. Cameron originally had the idea back in 1995 when he was doing Titanic so I guess he feels the need to throw in love stories in everything since it worked so well for Titanic's box office.

It could be epic but I think the romance thing may bring it down big time. Science Fiction and love stories really don't mix.

I'll pass. Look I'm a nerd, I am going to school for graphic design & computer imaging and I can say that too much computer-generated graphics really cheapens a movie. What ever happened to great story-telling, amazing makeup & animatronics, etc? I understand CGI is what's in (and much more cost effective now) but at some point I'd like to see a nice blend of the two.

How the hell does it cheapen the movie? I'm tired of people complaining just because things are more advanced than they were 20 years ago. The reason why animatronics were used was because CGI wasn't at the point to where you could actually make computer generated characters look like they were on screen. And if you want to see a blend of CGI and puppetry watch Where The Wild Things Are.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

The talk on this movie is that it's supposed to be a combination of story and visuals. I believe that's why so many people are anticipating it. Cameron has an amazing track record and did enough with Aliens to prove he can mix visuals, special effects with a solid plot.

I'm thinking this is one of those films you need to watch. I haven't been a fan of the trailers, but I get the impression that the trailers are purposely leaving out good scenes which is unlike most films that pound all the good stuff into 2 minutes.
