I don't know but watching that trailer has left me unimpressed. Those aliens look too cartoonish and I just keep thinking they're CGI, I know it's only a trailer but it gave way too much of the plot away as well.

I would disregard any of those reviews, reviewers are notorious for getting caught up in the hype for some movies and there were originally steller reviews for garbage like The Phantom Menace and The Crystall Skull (until they were oddly changed mysterously after the fact months later by those same reviewers when those movies were mocked by the large segment of moviegoers). It also seems the reviewers are all wowed by the technical achievements rather than the core of the movie.

Quite honestly, the technical achievements of this movie is all I'm really hoping for. For as much as the 3D action in this movie is hyped, I don't care what this movie is about. I'm much more interested in the technical aspect of this movie, and if it's as well done as I'm reading about, then I'll be happy.

You need to see this movie in 3D like you need to see red shoes in color. Its not the best movie of the year sh*t its not even the best movie of the holliday season. But I can promise you your mouth will never leave the floor watching this film.

Our local theatre is showing the 3D and tickets are running at $13 (at the moment). I'm going with a friend and my cousin and we're debating to see it that way.

Ok, question here:

It sounds like 3D may be the way to go with this one, which would be my first ever 3D experience in theaters. Is it still like old school 3D where your eyes would start to hurt after a while and nausea would kick in, and there would little blue and red lines surrounding everything? Lol, I know I know, I'm sure it's advanced far beyond that, but I just want to make sure before I drop all that cash... because if it looks gimmicky, I'm gonna be pissed.

I never got sick from the old 3d but the version that has been used recently and will be used with Avatar is designed so that it feels completely natural.

Yeah, I don't think you'll have much of a problem on an IMAX 3-D screen getting sick.

I've seen a few recent 3D movies and the technology is so much better. I remember getting sick when I went to Disney World in '93 or so and saw...one of their 3D events, but recently I've been perfectly fine.

I also don't see how you don't see this movie in 3D if you have the opportunity. Cameron filmed it just for that format. If it costs an extra 3-5 dollars, it is going to be worth it.

Yeah there's no way I'm not watching this in 3d, especially after I read more about the technology he's using.
