Just bought the combo at walmart.

Blue ray, dvd, and digital copy.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to watch it, though.

This one has really grown on me. I don't recall hearing it at the end of the movie, but I've always loved pieces similar to this.

Makes me want to learn it on the piano.

Next time you watch the movie, you'll recognize it. Shame this probably won't get Oscar recognition.

I don't think a score has ever captivated me like the Inception one. I have listened to the soundtrack a ton since it was released. It is highly deserving of an Oscar IMO.

"Time" is? Or the regular "Half-Remembered Dream" one is?

To be honest, in some ways it kind of has the Batman sound to it but lower haha.

It should definitely be nominated for Best Original Score if the Academy doesn't get turned off by the fact that Zimmer used an existing song's note.

I think part of being a creative genius is borrowing from the classics. Writers do it. Directors do it. Producers do it. Actors do it. And they all get nominated for it. Yet, rumors are the Academy won't be so nice about musical score when it's done.

                      That's the real shame.

^ Well what I also don't get is the score for The Dark Knight was composed by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, therefore it wasn't able to be nominated by the AA. So why is TSN's score able to be? It has Trent Reznor and Atticus Finch behind it, correct?

Both Begins and Dark Knight were disqualified not because there was another name alongside Hans Zimmer. They were disqualified because they had too many names (five to be exact).

Hans Zimmer has gone on record to say he doesn't care about awards. He just loves working with Christopher Nolan with who he credits as a great director.

Combine that with the only people that get paid royalties for a score are those that are named as contributers and you can start to notice a trend.

Zimmer is mostly interested in protecting his contributers and making good music. Screw a trophy.

I do not think Inception is faced with the same potential issue of having too many contributors. The Academy was concerned with the Dark Knight because they found that 30-40% of the music was not made by Hans Zimmer.
