Re: Christopher Nolan + DiCaprio = Inception
SpoilerThis would make sense, as some people have made the argument that Cobb couldn't even perceive his children's faces without seeing them in reality. Like in a dream, maybe they'd just appear as blurred to him if he saw them in a dream.
Then again, some people just believe that Cobb didn't want to see his kid's faces when he believed he was dreaming. He didn't want to see them, and automatically want to live in that world because he feels his children with him. At the end, when he at least believes that he's in reality, he wants to see his children's faces. He didn't want to do so in Limbo, even if he would have been able to. So there are those who kind of think he is in a dream, but he doesn't know it or care to believe it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Christopher Nolan + DiCaprio = Inception
there are more holes in this movie's storyline than swiss cheese...great score, great effects, cool cast, but once you sit down and analyze it in a situation where you can crosscheck dialogue and ides throughout the movie - alot of the times it just doesn't add up.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Christopher Nolan + DiCaprio = Inception
I thought that most things had valid answers, as long as the rules were made up along the way. I think that's the bigger problem most people had with the writing: just as you thought everything was explained about the system, you got something entirely new every ten minutes (whereas, something like The Matrix tries to expose everything as soon as coherently possible).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Christopher Nolan + DiCaprio = Inception
I've seen Inception four times in its entirety. That's phenomenal for me. I think only Back to the Future Trilogy stands up to it with like one million viewings.
Anyway, I point that out because I agree with you."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

It's been a few months since I've seen this. Should probably go watch it again.
One day I think I might just do a Christopher Nolan-movie marathon. That would be fun.Comment

Re: Christopher Nolan + DiCaprio = Inception
1) Censoring every time "Jesus Christ" or "*** ****" is said. Not because it's not said per se, but the way that it's dubbed over sounds really awkward.
2) The score is completely subdued, as well as any impacting sound effects (bullets, the train, etc).
Otherwise, as always... fantastic film, and I just keep watching it to this day.Last edited by Blzer; 12-06-2012, 12:38 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Christopher Nolan + DiCaprio = Inception
Nolan outwardly pontificates that he is a big fan of the James Bond character, Fleming's novels, and the recent films. It is also rumored that he has story bits laid out for a Bond film, and perhaps has even used some elements in his previous works. You can look at Inception and see ways in which Nolan could take a similar spin and work Bond into it, specifically when you have men in suits firing bullets on grandiose stages.
If not Mendes or Campbell, Nolan is absolutely my choice for the next Craig Bond film. It can't be too dry like many of his works, but I truly feel Nolan can do no wrong by it.Last edited by Blzer; 12-05-2012, 01:29 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I guess I just figured Nolan would push his own material after spending so much time on Batman. But, I guess he can always do what he did with Batman and just work on his own projects in between Bond films."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Yeah I saw this a few months back, definitely delivered on all the acclaim it received. Helped to know the plot beforehand so I wasn't mindferked throughout.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
