Ha, the Wikipedia symposis makes it seem so linear. That helped me piece things together, but there's so many layers and little things to notice that I'm sure it can't be that easy.

Every time I woke up during my sleep last night/this morning, I thought of "kick". Ridiculous.

After sleeping on this movie, I realize that I don't like movies that are insanely up to interpretation. Sure, a little bit is fine, but as ****ing incredible as the movie is, I can't help but feel cheated that I don't know exactly what the hell I watched for 2.5 hours.

I just got back from this. Amazing movie and definently a 1st day buy when it's released on blu-ray. Like others have said, it's definently a mind**** but its a great one at least! I may even go see it again soon while its in theaters.

Saito was going to shoot himself and at that moment Cobb "woke up" back on the plane as it landed/the sedative ran out. I believe that since Leo "knew" he was in Limbo, he had the power to escape, as he did previously with Mal. Saito didn't even know he was in limbo until Cobb told him at the end of the movie when he decided to shoot himself to wake up -- "let's be young men together again".

That's what I got from it anyway... Gotta see this thing again, probably on Blu-Ray so I can rewind and watch certain parts over again.

I think there's enough material to make a case for either argument, personally. I mean, the more you watch it, the more stuff pops out at you and you pick up on little things that you didn't notice before. Sure, it might not be like Memento where there is a definitive cause and effect that is revealed after multiple viewings, but rarely are movies actually left up to the interpretations of the viewer.

The snow level reminded me of the snow stage in Goldeneye on the N64.

I still don't see how Leo shooting himself is a kick. I thought they explicitly said that the only way out of the dreams in their sedated state was to trigger movement/balance loss in their inner-ear

Sounds about right. Just saw it for the 3rd time and I think I was able to pick everything up. Limbo level still confuses me a bit, but I think I have an idea. Why do they imply Limbo is near impossible to get out of, or that it takes forever, when all Saito, Dom, Fischer, and Ariadne had to do was die in that level? Why didn't Saito just kill himself once he fell into limbo?

Now, take this with a grain of salt because I've only seen it once, so my memory is a little off perhaps. But I thought that in order to get out of limbo, you had to realize you were in limbo before you could get out. That's why Cobb had to convince his wife that the world they were in together weren't real, then had to kill themselves on the train tracks in order to get out. Same thing with Saito, theoretically. Cobb came to find him and convince him that it's not real and that they were in limbo.

But really, the whole time all they had to do was kill themselves... just the same as any other level. Maybe it's the combination of realizing you're in limbo and death that makes it happen?

I'm just trying to find out the importance of getting dropped down to limbo, because it didn't seem like that big of a deal. Ellen Page's character simply jumped off a building and was back to reality. Leo (possibly) killed himself as well as Saito, and they were both fine.

Maybe I'm making a big deal over nothing and am being stupid, but that was really the only part of the movie that went over my head.

Actually its pretty important. Leo was the only one who had been there beforehand and managed to get out. If Leo was unable to locate Saito in Limbo, Saito would have never killed himself and just reamined in Limbo because he actuaully thought it was reality. Once you go to Limbo you're supposed to lose track of whether or not you're dreaming and just accept it as real. Leo and Saito did kill themselves just as Leo and Mal did to get out of Limbo the first time. I'm guessing Leo's mind was just stronger than everyone else's when it came to remembering he was in a dream once in Limbo. It's still up to interpretaion on whether or not it worked, becuase the item he always spins wasn't completely balanced at the end though.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. The spinner wasn’t spinning perfectly it was wobbling and looking like it was going to fall. I thought if you were in a dream it wouldn’t wobble or anything.
