Tin Tin - I hadn't read any reviews and had no expectations. Ended up really enjoying the superb animation and fun adventure story.

Midnight In Paris - Artsy Woody Allen film with a nice message that had me thinking for a few days. Also beautiful Paris scenes.

Water For Elephants - Read the book. Its much much better.

Ah yes, I saw this a couple of months ago. Couldn't catch the last twenty minutes or so, which is probably why I never said I watched it. The animation was a tremendous blend between reality and... well... the normal animation that you see. It's kind of a cheat since it feels like live action with an artistic twist, but it allows for some awesome reeling. There was a single "action" shot that lasted maybe what, three minutes? It was nearly breathtaking what kind of shot that was, and how long it probably took to render is mind-boggling.

I don't know if it's the best kids movie, but it's a cool adventure story.

Young Adult - saw this on a whim after seeing Snow White. It was an entertaining enough movie watching the Hottest Woman on the Planet act like a total shallow immature b****. I think the nice touch at the end of her not learning a single damn thing and basically saying screw this town was a good thing I can't remember many movies where the protagonist learns nothing at all. Still with all that I wouldn't watch it again. Charlize isn't enough in this one for me to watch again. Patton Oswalt was also a pretty bright spot in this as well.

I don't want to say people are spoiling films, but there have been a couple of posts on the most recent pages which I have read that haven't exactly helped in terms of concealing major character developments (or lack thereof) in certain films.

I know it wasn't me, lol. I try to be as vague as possible when I post movies I've watched and really just say if I liked the film or not.

That was one of those movies where I took it for what it was, and had a great time watching it. I saw it twice in theaters, once free and once paid, and I loved it both times. I went in expecting it to be awful, but I loved every minute of it.

                          Everything Must Go

I wish bad movies like this would just go away.

Not funny. Not dramatic. Not suspenseful.

What was the point but to show us a sad man with a young kid for a friend and a lonely housewife living next door?

And to top it off, nothing happens in the end. It just ends. And you can see how awful the ending is because the director has to pull all the stops by pushing dramatic lighting and a deep wide shot just to pull some sense of intense sympathy from the scene.

Goodness. This is why I hardly watch movies anymore.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

                            Anyone watch "That's my boy"?

Was gonna the other day but seen it got bad reviews. I'm pretty easy to entertain when it comes to funny stuff, but is just stupid or is funny/stupid and critics just hate it because of just that?

If you like other Happy Madison films, you'll want to see this. It's textbook Happy Madison humor with some extra stuff thrown in for shock value. Some parts go too far and don't really add much to the movie but if you go in expecting to be entertained by stupidity, you won't be disappointed.

Just saw In Time with Justin Timberriver...man what a waste of valuble time that I will never get back unless this movie becomes reality.

Anyway, it started off good then quickly trailed off into the realms of all to familiar cliche action sequences. I like the premise of the movie, I just wish it was done better. With a better more satisfying ending.
