Well that settles that, i'll have to watch End of Watch then. I really like Ayer's work especially Dark Blue.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Took the wife and kids to see Wreck it Ralph and absolutely loved it. It's like a love letter to video games. The voice work was superb. John C. Reilly could not have been any better, and Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch (though she can do this sort of thing in her sleep by now) were terrific as well. The real surprise was Jack McBrayer from 30 Rock as the goody-two-shoes Fix It Felix. He was dead-solid perfect. Will be anxious to get this one of Blu Ray, hoping it has lots of extras.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
How much is it? Did they ever release a DVD set with his later movies? I have a couple of sets of his early work, and a stand-alone DVD of Strangers On A Train (great movie). Never saw DVDs for Rear Window, Vertigo, Rope, The Birds, etc.
I have VHS copies of most of them, but they are a little worn at this point.
92 pounds on Amazon.co.uk
The UK collection doesn't include North by Northwest.
I have blus of Psycho, NxNW, and The Lady Vanishes (Criterion release). I just want everything else no haha.
The James Bond collection is also cheaper on the UK site. I'll probably try and pick them both up around Christmas.Last edited by Fresh Tendrils; 11-13-2012, 10:48 AM.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Skyfall - I feel like this shifted more towards the classic Bond movies and away from what Casino Royale had introduced to us. Its hammy in a classic Bond way, but also some some pretty good dramatic elements. Not sure where it falls in line, but it was great. I think it was the best major tent-pole release of the year.
If Casino Royale was a hard reboot that wiped a lot of the past and went with the tough guy element of Connery and Craig than Skyfall is the soft reboot that brings back a lot of the classic elements of what makes Bond so great. I really loved the photography/cinematography of this film. The whole last 3rd of the movie looks like it could've been filmed in the '60s.
I have another comment about the movie but will put it in the Skyfall thread.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Miller's Crossing
I didn't know anything about it but was very pleasantly surprised. Very good movie and John Turturro was very good. I don't remember him being in any movie where he stole the scenes in the manner in which he did in this film. His acting was superb."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." Looper. Thought it was pretty good. Guess I expected too much.
End of Watch. Not bad. The camera angles got annoying fast, but the chemistry between the 2 main cops was on point. A NON-dirty cop movie for a change.Comment
