    Cosmopolis

    Well...that was...something.
There's a really wonderful scene about an hour in,hilarious even if it wasn't supposed to be.

There's also a sex scene where the girl has the most hideous looking breasts I've ever seen. I seriously considered switching teams for a minute.

They kinda cut off the ending,I had to look up the book for the proper conclusion.

    Overall it's at least unique.

The Immortals (3D). Not bad. The action at the end was nice.

Watched Up last night. Fantastic film. One of the most gorgeous Blu-rays I have ever watched.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Just got done watching Trouble With the Curve and Looper this week. I'd recommend both.

And JGL and Bruce Willis are two of my favorite actors for sure.

And I find Clint Eastwood to be someone that I love watching on the screen, and yet I've only seen Gran Torino and this movie.

Most any western from Clint is great, but I recommend starting with The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. The only thing I didn't really like is how he brought along Sandra "I Can't Really Act" Locke, and we know why he did.

I'm a big fan of his westerns, especially the man with no name trilogy and unforgiven.

I think Clint has done a lot of very good movies and the ones that aren't so great are worth a look just to see him at his craft alone. I'd also recommend his westerns to anyone.

                      This Is 40

I liked it and laughed it a lot, but thought it was a hot mess. Judd Apatow just doesn't seem to mind to write a film that is scene after scene of dialogue which might not pertain to an overall story structure or plot points, and you can forget about any arising issues throughout the films attempting to be resolved on screen or explained why they were brought up in the first place.

I don't think this should get any considerable Oscar acclaim for any reason whatsoever, and I actually think Knocked Up would be more deserving of recognition before this. Apatow may know how to ground characters and make a crowd laugh, but This Is 40 is literally that... a play-by-play of parenthood between Rudd and Mann at forty years old lol.

This is a "one and done" for me.

Did you crank the Darbee up to 75% for that one?

Watched that the other day as well, I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it.

Saw The Guilt Trip yesterday, thought it was pretty good, funny and heartfelt.

                          Recent ones:

Ted (twice): much better the second time. Some real funny parts in there.

The Raid: Redemption - Awesome ****ing movie. Some of the best fight scenes I have ever watched. Just a beautifully brutal movie.

The Shining - First time I remember watching the entire thing from beginning to end. Jack was incredible, and the movie was good, but I hated it. I had just finished the novel a week or so before and was so excited to finally see the movie and it is, without a doubt, the most disappointing adaptation I have ever seen. I have a strong desire to re-read the book, very little desire to re-watch the movie. Incredibly let down (outside of Jack in the last third of the movie. That was brilliant.)

Yup, it literally was the most gorgeous Blu-ray I've watched. Haha. Staying with 75% for animated movies and 50-55% for live action movies.

Reminds me of my very critical thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-horrible.html
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

The last movies I saw were This is 40 and Flight. Both were pretty good, good comedy out of This is 40.
