So I just watched the show Firefly, then followed up with the movie Serenity. Holy crap I am PISSED that this show ended up getting canceled.

Lincoln. I loved it and Daniel Day Lewis knocks it out of the park with his performance. Must see.

This film feels like Rian Johnson's Memento if Looper ends up being his Insomnia (for no reason but that it feels that way to me even if it makes no sense to compare his career to Nolan's).

As for the film: I mean, I just don't know what to say. It's weird but fascinating. At times feels all over the place but controlled as well. He really went all in on making his own noir film.

Enjoyed it. Not sure I loved it. Not sure how I feel about it except I want to read more about its creation and just dive into that world a bit.

And JGL is good as usual.

I still need to see this, but have been holding out on the blu-ray since its usually over $25.

I would feel more inclined to compare Looper to Memento, though. I think you can point to both of those as being the launching point for both directors. Insomnia was like Nolan's major introduction to the greater audience and in that way I can see similarities, but the tone and quality of the films are off. Then again you're probably focusing on something else.

I watched The Lookout for the first time a week or so ago. Not sure how to feel about that movie still.

Yes. The ending of some of the characters left me jaded a little bit with the movie, but fantastic series all around.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration - I was not expecting much at all the previous movies in this series were pretty bad. This however wasn't great but wasn't bad either. Had an ok story and some of the fight scenes were really well done.

Expendables 2 - It is what it is, over the top destruction and one liners.

Saw it about a month ago. Not quite sure how representative it is of how police officers work, but it was high energy throughout. I thought the ending could have been better...

I definitely would watch it again. Want my wife to see it.

JGL has really grown up to be a damn good actor.
Watched this in the afternoon and I think this sums up my thoughts on the film as well. I liked how the story unfolded and, as a person that spends a good deal of time mountain biking, I appreciated the scenes where the messengers had to think ahead and map out their route when objects got in their way.

I watched it too. It was pretty cool high-adrenaline, but did not make me fall in love with Michael Shannon. His villainy was very PG-like in nature. I sure hope he is written better for Man of Steel.

I also watched Contagion. Didn't care much for it.

I just saw Real Steel and I have to admit toward the end there the room got a little "dusty".

Lincoln. One of the best movies period I have seen.

Hyde Park on Hudson - Bill Murray was pretty good a FDR, but the story wasn't as good or historically accurate as Lincoln's was.
