Watched Gangster Squad and Flight today.

Was really impressed with GS, but I had lowered my expectations so greatly that it was probably only a "good movie".

Flight is awesome because of Denzel.

Oblivion exceeded my very low expectations Thursday. Nice visual effects and setting. Kinda predictable.

Loved the theater so much (recliners, beer/wine service) that I found an excuse to go back Sunday and saw Pain & Gain. Funny but long, saw a headline that the true story is even.crazier than the movie... interested in reading that now.

            Wreck It Ralph

Trust me, I didn't want to hold off as long as I did to see this film. Although now I'm glad I did, and will likely buy the Blu-ray when I see another sweet deal on the 3D version.

This film is a classic, but more so in the sense that it hits on video game classic than the film itself being a truly cinematic gem. Nonetheless, I think it brought on enough nuance for every scene and detail to be picked out and admired.

Most unfortunately, my only problem is that I probably didn't catch many of the references. I wasn't much for the arcades in the early-mid 90s, and most of these games (whichever ones were truly real) were before my time. I loved the animation and the voice acting, and it was a good way to represent a villain in the Disney world as well as a protagonist (in a much more charming way than Despicable Me).

Once again, since Tangled and How to Train Your Dragon, I'm being proven that Pixar is not the only one out there that can make a solid computer animated film. I'm sure I will start opening my eyes up more to these films as they roll by.

Solid work all around! This is not just a film for gamers, not at all. Although I must admit, if it's not geared toward gamers of the past, I'd say it's much more of a "kids" film than others can be.

Started watching Tiny Furniture and made it through approximately 10-15 minutes before turning it off.

Not a movie (so my apologies) but I have DVR'd "Ripper Street" on BBC America. I have 7 shows recorded and just started watching them. LOVE IT. If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan (of which I have a library of well over 100 books/pastiches - and TONS of movies) I HIGHLY recommend this mini-series. Very engaging...

In case I haven't posted it recently, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is great. Just a character drama, but cast is fantastic. If you like the trailer you'll love the movie.

I saw Mama when it was in theaters around the start of the new year. I though it was pretty damn terrifying, especially with some of the CGI effects. I enjoyed it. Good performance by Jessica Chastain as well.

Also watched The Pact on netflix with my girlfriend recently. I know we both really liked it. Definitely had moments that were creepy as hell.

I'd recommend both of them as scary movies.

I think I saw someone else mention Paranormal Activity also. I only saw the first two I think, but they were pretty good.

Insidious another one I watched on netflix a while back that was good for a scare.

Watched Django again. This time with the girlfriend. She HATES Sam Jackson probably more than all other actors combined (I know, right?) and usually loses interest in movies that I like. She actually really liked most of this movie although Jackson's character didn't do her any favors. I can remember when Christoph Waltz won the Oscar she just rolled her eyes and said "only crappy movies win these awards." She really liked Waltz in this movie after seeing it. So I finally accomplished the impossible feat of getting her to sit through and actually enjoy a Tarantino flick.

i must be pretty lucky. My girlfriend went to see Django in theaters with me and loved it, and i had her watch Pulp Fiction way before that, though i don't think she was as much of a fan. She's a big Lord of the Rings fan too haha.

She has told me she likes Pulp Fiction, but mostly for Travolta.

Silver Linings Playbook - Really, really, really good. I liked it so much that I'm tempted to go back and watch it a second time right now.

I don't know if it was intended to be as funny as it was or if I'm just an ******* that laughs at bi-polar outbursts. Either way, I was entertained. Actually, now that I think about it, it reminded me a lot of 50/50 in that it made light of serious issues in a funny way that wasn't over the top or anything.

Also, I never would have guessed Bradley Cooper would be as good of an actor as he's turned out to be. He was solid throughout. And Jennifer Lawrence.....my god, Jennnifer Lawrence. I want to marry her.
