What movies have you seen recently?

I didn't know what it was about going in - but it didn't take long to figure out. I just didn't care for it. Maybe because I was expecting something else?

I was totally expecting something else, but that's what I loved about it. It was unlike any "horror" movie I had watched before.

I knew things were gonna be hilarious once the title graphic just randomly popped up in the middle of a conversation. So great.

Joss Whedon. That is all you need to know. Same sense of humor throughout Serenity and BtVS.

I picked up the original Journey to the Center of the Earth for my collection (it's on DVD), and especially so my son could see it. He loved it! He laughed at all of James Mason's grumpy quips as Prof Lindenbrook.

My son also commented that he sees where Spielberg/Lucas got some inspiration from this film for key scenes in Raiders of the Lost Ark, namely the rolling boulder scene (Raiders: opening temple) and the sunlight shining thru the mountain pass to show the entrance to the caves at an exact date and time (Raiders: Well of Souls).

I also viewed Brave on BluRay and liked it a lot. The mother and daughter were good characters and loved the setting.

Next, I'm going to get my son to watch the original War of the Worlds.

Chernobyl Diaries. No real value to it, acting is mediocre, BUT for some strange reason I enjoyed it. Had to close my eyes a couple times. Pretty predictable, but a nice way to kill an hour and a half.

Last 3 movies Ive seen are

Identity Thief- Eh, it was ok. Some funny parts. Decent movie.
Forest Gump- First time ive seen it again in about 10 years lol I still like this movie. Tom Hanks is one hell of an actor.
Stepup 4 Revolution- It was ok, I do like movies that has to do was dancing but til this day id say 1 and 2 are the better ones.

Planning to watch:
Saving Private Ryan-Another Tom Hanks classic film that I havent watched in a while.

I got Step Up 3 in 3D. Very good movie and awesome 3D effects.

yeah Step up 4 is the one in Miami. 3 was indeed good and 4 wouldve been better if "Moose" had a bigger role. That boy can dance lol

The Amazing Spider-man. This was definitely the Spider-Man i was looking for in the original trilogy. I can wipe those from my memory banks now. This was an awesome movie. From the fight style to his build to his attitude and quips it was all good.

Checked out Zero Dark Thirty tonight. It was good, thoroughly enjoyed. I liked it more than Argo but not as much as Looper or Skyfall.

after watching Saving Private Ryan again last night for the first time in years, I completely forgot how good of a movie it is. When The ending came along, I forgot that what happened had happened and it surprised the hell outta me. Great movie!
