Loved Inherent Vice. Another PTA classic that people will love/hate I think. Really becoming a big Brolin and Phoenix fan.

I read the book this past Summer and have been eagerly anticipating the movie ever since.

I agree for the most part but being a bit nutty is one thing and personally attacking people's beliefs time and time again tends to make some people dislike you and many people just don't want to pay to see someone they personally dislike, or even more importantly feel as if that person on screen doesn't want them to be a part of their work..

As for me, I see both sides. I personally don't limit what media I buy or indulge in based upon that person's politics or religion or whatever.... They can have any beliefs they desire.. But when they start becoming personally distasteful to me then I kind of start subconsciously not really wanting to indulge in their productions.

Btw in this case I still like and enjoy Sean Penn, even despite his rants and overall political weirdness.

Good thing I pay 0 attention to what actors do outside their art. I get to enjoy their work and judge it by performance.

Despite all of his communist crap, I still wouldn't put him in the category of "great". He really doesn't have much range. But, yes, I have a hard time respecting what someone does when his values are such.

Doubt this movie disappoints many people. Or, at least, I hope it doesn't because I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did. First viewing rating puts it up among my favorite war movies. Got a mix of Lone Survivor/Hurt Locker/Zero Dark Thirty kind of vibe rolled into one with, what I thought, was an incredible performance turned in from Cooper.

                    Before Sunrise (1995)
                    Directed by: Richard Linklater
Starring: Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy

An absolutely beautiful film in its simplicity. The on screen chemistry between Hawke and Delpy is off the charts and their interaction with one another is pretty much the basis for the entire film. I'm not much into love stories and things of that nature, but I could watch this one over and over. This was an incredibly brave film for Linklater to make, fresh off the success of Dazed and Confused (1993) because it is so different. Dazed was all about the ensemble whereas Sunrise is basically a two person show. If you've ever felt instant chemistry with anyone of the opposite sex before then you owe it to yourself to see this at least once.

                    Directed by: Richard Linklater
Starring: Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy

The second entry in the "Before" trilogy. This film takes place exactly nine years after the first one and came out exactly nine years later in real time. The characters have grown from early-twentysomethings into adults in their thirties now. The chemistry between the two leads is even stronger than it was in the first entry and the overall tone of the film feels much more real. While the sequel isn't nearly as much of a feel-good type of film as the original, the realism much more than makes up for that. The final scene and ending here (especially the last line of dialogue) are one of my favorites in modern cinema. I believe this to be Linklater's best film.

                    Directed by: Richard Linklater
Starring: Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy

The third and final entry in the "Before" trilogy was a film I had never seen until last week, unlike the first two which I had seen a few times in years past and just re-watched before diving into this one. Fast forward another nine years into the future as well as real time. The leads are now in their forties and have a lot more real life worries and problems which come with age. The first two films in the series were two person shows but this time around there were more characters with central roles. I'm not sure I understand why. However, there is one scene where an older Greek woman gives a monologue about her deceased husband and how she manages to get by without him that is absolutely fantastic. This film was okay, but it doesn't hold a candle to the first two.

I have to check it out, I been hearing it's one of the best love stories out there and I think Linklater is great, I thought what he did with Boyhood was remarkable. Thanks for the review 55

I generally don't go for blondes, but the 1995 version of Julie Delpy would have had me wrapped around her finger in mere seconds. Especially with that accent. I'd be finished.

I'm watching "Superman: The Movie", now. I plan to watch entire the Superman series, this weekend. I had no idea that the PS3 shows DVDs in 1080p. You can see the pixels more clearly. I had to special order the DVD of "Superman III', because WB didn't release a blu-ray here in the USA. I ordered it, because my copy was damaged somehow. WB hasn't released "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" on blu-ray, also. Its a good thing too, those movies are 2 of the worst movies ever made. I did order the 3 disc blu-ray edition of "Superman: The Movie", "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut", and "Superman Returns". Sadly, they put "Superman Returns" on blu-ray. Its sad that they had to put such an inferior movie in HD. Its almost not worth the effort.

It works better, if you buy the 3 disc set rather than buying "Superman Returns" by itself. Such an inferior movie should never be bought by itself. To be honest, its almost not worth watching. Its almost as bad as "Superman IV: TQFP". Thankfully, its not as bad as "Batman & Robin", "Daredevil", or even "Howard the Duck". "Howard the Duck" is clearly the worst comic book movie, EVER MADE. The order of the worst comic books ever made goes this order.

                                1. Howard the Duck
                                2. Batman & Robin
                                3. Daredevil
                                4. Supergirl
                                5. Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
                                6. Hulk
                                7. Superman Returns
                                8. Superman III
                                9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 version)
                                10. Green Lantern (2011)
                                11. Spider-man 3
