Oh I saw GI Joe last night and even though it was free it was a waste of time. I never cared about the toys or the cartoons in the first place so I didn't care about what they changed(or knew what was changed) but that was just a ****ty movie. Marlon was the best part of it, and that's not me saying that he was bad but he was really the only person worthwhile. Channing Tatum is approaching Hayden Christensen level to me, if he's in a movie I just won't watch it.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

Finally watched Terminator Salvation. It was okay, storyline was completely predictable.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Well last night I sat through an entire movie serial. This one was one of the more shorter ones so I was able to go through the whole thing. This was The Black Widow (1947) produced by the studio that was known as the king of serials in Republic Pictures.
Here's the summary/synopsis
The Daily Clarion hires detective story writer Steve Colt to investigate the deaths of a group of scientists working on an atomic rocket development project. Behind the killings is fortune teller Sombra, a spy from an Asian country intent on world domination, who is determined to pilfer the atomic rocket by luring workers from the project to her parlor and killing them with black widow spider venom when they refuse to cooperate.
The serial was pretty darn good. Story-wise it was nothing special but the actors had a can-do spirit and the story is enhanced by the use of gadgetry. One such gadget that was used quite a bit had the baddies having their car sprayed by paint while they're driving in order to change the car's color.
As for the cliffhangers most were very pedestrian with extremely predictable conclusions however a couple of the cliffhangers were pretty good. The best one being where Colt and Joyce are in a mine car being chased by flaming fire as they try to escape the mine. Only one cliffhanger was solved by kind of cheating which is pretty darn good for serials as i've seen some where the conclusion completely cheats compared to what happened in the cliffhanger.
All in all this was a pretty enjoyable serial and is said to be one of the better ones of the post WWII age.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Not a movie, but a documentary. Assault in the Ring
Very well done looking at the controversy surrounding the Resto vs. Collins fight.
I'd probably give it a 8.5 or 9 out of 10Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
my wife and i rented "Knowing" a few days ago... it was a decent movie. i'm not a huge Cage fan, but i'd give this movie around 7.5/10. i felt they could have cut out the ending and simplified the movie a bit but the storyline was interesting, if you're into the sci-fi type of thing. but the airplane crash and subway scenes were phenomenal and kept you on the edge of your seat. and it also dares to give pause to theology, without going overboard (as a christian i actually appreciated the element of this in the movie) and also makes allusion to global warming but doesn't go overboard or seem agenda-laden. but i'd recommend this...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Watched the movie Delgo two nights ago, terrible movie. It's a CGI movie about two different races of people who were friends but became enemies due to certain circumstances.
The movie has a fantastic cast, or better yet; a well know cast; but that did nothing for it. The overall story was i guess alright, but it was generic. The CGI itself was poor. The lighting and colors in many instances were great, but the actual CGI for the character models were sucky and blocky.
Delgo's side was HORRIBLE, worst character ever

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Came in from the beach early to get some food (I'm on vacation) and my dad and grandpa were popping it on CMT so I decided to sit and watch while browsing OS. As it ended, my dad said, "Oh great, another commercial," and I said, "Uh, unfortunately that was the end." Then he said, "What?! See, I forgot I didn't like this movie, now I remember why."
