Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Saw "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" this weekend with my girlfriend...
...it wasn't bad. Don't think I would recommend people to run out and see it, but if you like animated movies, I'd definitely check it out once it hits DVD.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I last saw a great great movie called Scandal Sheet (1952) This movie had great noir elements, some great acting by Broderick Crawford and surprisingly John Derek (who was overall a pretty wooden actor) and Donna Reed. It also shows the seedier side of the newspaper business and how in the end the kind of tabloid journalism depicted in the film can lead to someone's demise.
GREAT GREAT movie and it'll be shown again on TCM tomorrow at 4:45 PM so if you are interested and have space on the ol' DVR I suggest recording it as it's not on DVD.
The movie gets 4 out of 5 stars by me.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Watched a old western on HD-DVD, The Searchers. John Wayne is/was the man. Very good movie.
Speaking of westerns, I want The Good, Bad, and The Ugly on blu ray.Comment

Planet Terra
This is my hidden gem of this year; what an awesome movie. The story was mature enough for an adult to take in while still be fun enough for the children. The story probably ties more to Cameron's Avatar then the ****ty movie Delgo does.
Humans are in need of a planet since the Earth is no more. They find planet Terra which has peaceful inhabitants, but decide to conquer the world. Not only was there a good script behind he movie, but damn the animations and scenes were amazing. Looks very high budget. Too bad it didn't do good at the box office though

And I did watch Superman/Batman Public Enemies as well, ace of a movie. Started off amazing and became a little predictable at the end, but good nevertheless.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I finally got around to watching The Golden Compass on Blu Ray.
I thought this was a great movie for those of you who like fantasy type movie like the Lord of the Rings and such. Looks and sounds great on Blu Ray, a most own, IMO.
My Rating: 8.5/10
I wish they would come out with the second one but, it doesn't appear that they will at this point. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Man that Battle for Terra movie looks really good but it's nowhere around here. It might have to be a blind buy when it comes out on Blu Ray.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
