Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1

Just finished An American Crime. Just a gut wrenching, want to put your fist through a wall movie. All based on a true story makes it that much more sickening.

    Edit:
Well after many good movies I like to research a bit and come to find out this movie only scratched the surface of the real story (which because its just a movie i totally understand). The real events which are about 10x the amount in the movie is just absolutely horrible. I had to quit reading about it.

Instead of digging up the Blu ray thread, figured I'd post this amazing deal here. Best Buy has the Pinocchio anniversay blu ray on sale for $9.99 either online or in the store.

Insane pricing on a Disney blu ray that normally MSRP's for at least $30

Get in on this while you can. I picked up 2 copies.

Love that movie (and every other Adam Sandler movie). One of my favorite parts is when he's singing the song he made up about Linda.

"But it all was bull****, it was a f***ing joke
and when I think of you Linda, I hope you f***ing choke"

Westworld. Really ahead of its' time. The Jurrasic Park parallels are very evident.

This is one I would love to see re-done and would welcome it.

Kinda off topic but not really, Anybody go the Blockbuster route instead of Netflix? I am trying the BB trial. They don't charge extra for Bluray rental. Their return center is a little further but I like the free bluray. Watched Wolverine through BB.

I'd say it's a wash. Both took away key features (BB eliminated unlimited in-store trade ins and netflix added a surcharge for blu rays). I'm currently on a netflix trial and will probably stick with netflix since I have a LG blu ray player that can stream netflix content.

AMZ is my blu ray retailer of choice, but mostly buy them used from members of the HDD forums. Usually don't spend more than $13 a flick...with the occasional splurge of $16 max (The Dark Knight, Iron Man, etc).

Well, I buy mine normally. If I say "I saw X movie," normally it's something I saw on HBO or Encore or something, or it was an impulse buy (like Man on Fire, The Kingdom, Fracture, etc.).

Interesting. I was wondering how so many Blu rays were being watched. Now realize I live in a little rural town with a movie rental store that only has dvds. Online rental and purchasing is the only way I can watch blu ray.

I think it is crap that Netflix raised their blu ray charge to 4 dollars.

Gamecock, where did you find that LG Bluray deal? I am tired of moving my PS3 around to watch a blu ray.

Sorry for getting OT. I will use the OT as a segway into watching Wolverine. May have to watch it again because I wasn't too impressed with it. I was expecting a lot more. Even watching it on blu ray, the special effects were 90ish imo.
