We Own The Night with Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix, and Robert Duvall. Wasn't expecting much out of this for some reason but it was very good. Everyone played their part well and the very first scene with Eva Mendes was great.

      Mr. 3000.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad. The buildup did take to long, but after the hidden ball trick it got better.

Disappointing to hear about BDS II. Waited too long I guess.

Finally saw Inglorious Basterds. Loved it.

          Edge of Darkness

3 out of 5 stars....Great performances and good film, just too obvious!

          Whip It!

4 out of 5 stars. For a chick flick roller derby movie it was fun and great acting all around.

          Legion

3 out of 5 stars. Straight to the point and too short, not enough action. Too much talking and deciding, overall it's a great rental but no a purchase after it leaves theaters.

          From Paris with Love

4 out of 5. I like Travolta's bad guy roles and he's nice in this film, the action was overbearing and unrealistic, but what action shooter movie isn't. Overall great film! Just a fun movie all around.

I watched "I hope they serve beer in hell" last night...

                Pretty bad.

The only redeeming factor to me was the friend who had just had his heart broken by some peice who he caught sucking off a rapper. He was hilarious with his insults.

Other than that, it pretty much sucked.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1

Been watching a lot of movies the last day or two. All of these have been on NetFlix instant-stream.

Sex Drive: I have avoided watching this movie long enough. I finally crumbled under pressure last night after hearing some good things about it from a couple friends (whose movie opinions I don't regularly agree with). Overall I enjoyed it. It had some pretty funny moments and held my attention for over two hours. Seth Green and the Amish stuff was probably the best part for me. Not too bad.

Two Days in April: This is a documentary which followed four NFL hopefuls as they prepared for the 2006 NFL Draft. Clint Ingram, Dontrell Moore, Travis Wilson, and Derek Hagan were the prospects. It gave an in-depth look at the preparation involved for each of these players as they played in the Senior Bowl, went to the NFL Combine, and on Draft Day(s). I really enjoyed this. As the documentary went along I became more and more emotionally invested into some of the players, and I could truly feel the tensions rising as more and more teams passed on them in the Draft. Solid movie for any fan of the NFL.

Wackness: This is some indie-comedy with some very strong performances by a cast that I could hardly name. The story is about a highschool graduate who sells pot in New York (in 1994). Among one of the dealers clients is a therapist, who trades off one-on-one sessions for an 1/8 or so of bud. Both the dealer and the therapist have realized that their lives are completely dull/insignificant...add some romance into the film and some somber situations and you have yourself a solid film.

World's Greatest Dad: Robin Williams really delivered in this movie. He plays a school teacher and a struggling writer whose son "committed suicide"...ala David Carradine style. Williams, embarrassed by the situation, covered up his son's unfortunate situation and begins to write his suicide note and eventually writes a fake journal of his son's. This was a terrific dark comedy. Great characters, great story, and some really good performances. This is not your regular Robin Williams flick.

I think I have about 2 or 3 more left in me tonight...it's just hard to decide what to watch.

L.A. Confidential - In a word, badass. Seriously, the interrogation scene was probably one of the best scenes I have ever seen and the movie somehow got better from there. How such an epic movie was turned into such a horrible pilot is beyond me.

I was at a friends house on Friday night and his wife had it on. Not as terrible as I expected seeing how Drew Barrymore directed it. But once I saw Alia Shawkat (Maeby from Arrested Development) was in it, I paid more attention to it due to my ongoing infatuation with her.

Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story: This was a funny mockumentary starring Rob Corddy. Corddy played Bobby Dukes, a former paint ball legend who was got "wiping"during a match and received a 10 year ban. He comes back to his old stomping grounds and attempts to form a team to compete in a tournament. Also in this was Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, and even a brief appearance by Ed Helms. Pretty funny...nothing special, but a good watch.

Night of the Living Dead: This was my first time watching this from beginning to end. As a kid, I've only seen a few parts here and there. Well, I'm glad I watched this because it was awesome. Very well shot, interesting characters, and a whole lot of tension brewing in the house. I'm not the biggest zombie movie fan...I'm pretty sure that of all the new zombie movies that have been out, I have only watched Shaun of the Dead. So this was a good movie to get the ball moving in a zombie film direction.

My Blue Heaven: Steve Martin and Rick Moranis had some good chemistry in this one, along with Joan Cusack. For what it was, it was good. If you like Steve Martin, you'll probably like this.

You watched the original Night of the Living Dead right? I've never seen the remake, but the original is one of my favorite movies of all time.

That's a dog of a movie. I only remember one good line from the whole thing.

If you want a really good Steve Martin movie from a similar era, watch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. But, I think the best and most cleverl SM movie is Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. He did it after The Jerk (great stupid humor) and Pennies From Heaven (which sucked moose balls).
