    The Town-8.0

Good movie. It was something different in the usual array of bank heist movies. The characters and tension between them made the movie all that more enjoyable. It was also interesting to see Afflect in a role like that. Usually not the role he plays in most of his movies.

I saw the newest Shrek movie and daybreakers yesterday.

Shrek was ok but it's a bit tired and run into the ground. A few decent laughs but not as good as first 2. 3/5

I thought daybreakers was quite good, i had low expectations going in though (so sick of vampire related stuff!) and this was a nice change from the usual vampire movies you see. Pretty cool overall and lots of Aussie actors as a nice bonus. 4/5.

        The Guardians of Ga-Hool- 8.8

Awesome movie. I didn't expect it to be good but it was very well done. The animations were nice and the fight scenes were actually pretty intense. The movie was actually pretty mature for the most part.

No Country for Old Men - watched this to get pumped for True Grit. It is still an amazing film to watch and I find that the minimal score really draws you into the scene, which is odd because usually the score builds the scene up by creating (and in some cases falsely creating or overemphasizing) tension in a scene. The scene at the Eagle Pass between Anton and Moss, though relatively short, just feels to expand beyond its actual length because that's just how tense those few seconds is when Anton turns out the light and Moss waits. Not to mention Anton is one of the most memorable villains ever, with no real concrete sense of reason or logical thinking. I still think the book is slightly better because it fleshes out Ed Tom's character and having him be a true main character really moves the story and all its undertones forward. Simply having him serve as narrator and omnipresent force kind of devalues his character slightly, but then again I guess it could be argued that his lack of on screen time goes hand into hand with his refusal to "push forward all his chips." Anyway...

Also watched A Fistful of Dollars, clearly based on Yojimbo except without a lot of the wit and humor, though Clint did have a certain unidentifiable charm about him. I still enjoy the story, no matter if its with guns or swords because it is clever and fun to see unfold.

The Insider starring Al Pacino and Russel Crowe. Solid movie, both actors did outstanding. 5/5

Not going to say much. It picks up and never drops off, and it's all pretty good in my opinion. It does not deserve the 5.4 rating that it has on IMDb, I'll say that much. If there is an unrated version, I may pick it up on Blu-ray. That might be my biggest complaint... it seemed too much as if they filmed this to be an R-rated movie, but censored a couple of things to get the PG-13 rating (it was iffy though, I can see where they almost pushed limits here and there).

Just imagine that John Cena runs the city like Jack Bauer and everyone looks up to him, and you should be fine with the movie. The ending could have all been written better and maybe a bit longer just for the "appreciation effect," but it was enjoyable. I do recommend it if you like movies like Speed and Die Hard With a Vengeance.
I just wanted to update this with my second watching of this movie, but the unrated cut. Honestly, there's really nothing added. One F-bomb that's dropped off-screen and a couple more shots of blood (and by a couple, I literally mean two). I don't really see anything else necessarily uncensored or extended or anything. That's kind of a disappointment.

Picked up "The Town" this morning and watched it this afternoon with my gf. Also, watched Toy Story 3 a few days ago.

The Town- 9/10. I semi-blind bought this on blu-ray this morning, as I knew it was the type of movie I like. I am glad I did and can see myself watching it many times. It is a more modern version of "Heat" (also a great movie if you haven't seen it), but it felt like it didn't drag as much in the middle like "Heat" did. Highly recommended, my second favorite movie that came out this year (Inception). However, my gf said she was a little bit put off by the language, so this isn't for kids. I didn't really notice that much though.

Toy Story 3- 9/10. I don't really watch too many animated movies, but due to the amazing reviews I decided I should watch it. It was actually pretty good, and I chuckled here and there. Well worth a watch for everyone.

I'll ship you my Blu-ray if you want haha. One of my favorite movies ever, only behind Inception and The Dark Knight.

Haha, I think I remember an essay or two being posted by you about the movie.

But really, I never watched it during college because the two times I was going to, the movie was spoiled for me by a friend or someone on my floor.

However, I now have absolutely no recollection of what happens or what they told me, so it might be time to watch it.

Ah, I see. Spoilers are no good, especially for movies like this. Just don't watch it trying to predict an ending for yourself (I don't do that for any movie, including recent ones like Shutter Island and Saw 3D), watch it in the moment and appreciate the awesomeness of it.

Yeah it's definitely not for kids. There's some pretty brutal violence in that one.

The Town was one of my favorites this year.
