A very Australian film with a touching, funny story. Not sure if you guys would like it as much as I did but I reallly enjoyed it. Kinda reminds me of movies of old with minimal special effects but a great story that drags you in. 9/10
I didn't like Colombiana as much as I hoped I would.

I was lucky in that I had no idea what the movie was about or who was involved in making it etc. I was staying at a motel for work and it came on one of the free movie channels. Seeing as those movies usually suck I was so pleasantly surpriseed to have something decent to watch it probably boosted my rating by a good 1-2 points.

I read somewhere this initially was a sequel to the Professional but something happened so Besson altered the story to make Colombiana its own movie.

As for the movie itself, its one of my favorites and one of my less than 10 blu-rays, aka movies I like enough to own. Its a short list.

              The Grey-8.8

Awesome movie, freaking intensive as heck. I haven't felt that kind of tension in while just watching a movie. The style and use of flash-backs was very well done. The gritty realism was a nice touch, Liam Neeson is built for these movies, that guy is the man.

The only thing I didn't like was the ending.

              Spoiler

And those WOLVES!!!!!!!!!!WTF freaking insane, if wolves are like that in real life.........then being stranded in the woods is a bad thing, a very bad thing.

                  They are not.
There was just a news report on this...and how some wolf sanctuaries are a bit upset at the portrayal of wolves in this light...and that people would believe this and add to an already growing problem of people poaching wolves. This particular sanctuary is in N.Y. State and ships wolves out west and midwest and has already found a few of their pack killed by poachers.

Yes...wolves are wild creatures and will certainly hunt prey...but rarely humans unless threatened.

The wolves in some areas just looked to un-natural in terms of size and weight.....but for the most part, they looked pretty good in terms of realism.

And Knight, definitely can see the embellishment in the way they were represented but i'm pretty sure you still don't want to be their prey.

The wolves in the movie look like some kind of mutated super wolf made in a lab.

I wanted to see it, but like I said after seeing those wolves I couldnt take it seriously.

When I saw the previews I actually thought the movie was about some kind of super wolf but no, they were actually trying to portray real life.

                          The Descendants.

Hmm...I found this film to be insanely boring. It took 50 minutes before the point of it was even known and then another 30 minutes after for something to be done about it.

Actually, after having watched the film, I'm still not sure there was a point. It was a moment in this man's life that wasn't interesting at all.

Movie lacked conflict which is a huge need for a film. Everything just happened and it assumed I'd care because it was an Indie film.

Seriously, if this is what the Academy is gonna start doing to the Best Picture nom then the film industry is indeed in trouble.

In conclusion, you put anyone else in George Clooney's role and no one gives two craps about this film. Clooney's performance wasn't even that great and I actually like him as an actor.

                          Bad film. 1/5.

                            No Strings Attached

Was looking for something on Nexflix Instant Stream to watch and chose this and it went exactly the way I thought it would. If you haven't watched this yet, don't bother. I found the characters to be really forced, and the story was too predictable and lacked any real drama to make you care about anyone in the movie.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope!

Man, I can't believe i've been on this earth for 23 years and never attempted to watch any of these movies. I always thought they were weird and the people watching them were weirder but for a movie made in 1977 it wasn't bad at all. I usually have issues staying interested in movies so old but I really enjoyed this. I'm moving on to episode 5 right now!!

                              EDIT:

Hammered out Episode 5... wowwww! Breakfast than episode 6 lol.. one month after graduation and no job.. plenty of time for star wars lol

1977 isn't not old for cinema. Plenty of great films from the 30s to the 60s.
