21 Jump Street - I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It was clever, but not too smart and really never tried to a movie that it wasn't. Pretty funny all around and while I probably wouldn't run to see this again, I don't have a problem recommending it to people.

Cabin in the Woods - I loved this. Anybody who is a fan of any of Joss Whedon's work needs to see this as his stamp is on damn near everything. I loved the set-up and loved watching it unfold. Will buy on blu-ray the day of release.

You pray that they won't be with anyone else.

Is No Strings Attached a similar kind of movie?
      It's the exact same thing.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

The Thing (prequel). Actually much better than I thought it would be. Pretty creepy CGI. But I always have one question after movies like this:

          Hanna (2011)

Ehhhhhh.... This was a little bit too offbeat in style for my tastes and the meandering pace for the most part kinda bored me a bit. I can't say it was a bad movie but I can certainly think of a much better movie with a similar concept to this. (another European film which i'm sure many have already seen) I can at least say that Saoirse Ronan did a wonderful job in her part as the lead character.

I give this about 2 and a quarter stars.

Happy Feet 2 - Not as good as the first but definitely solid movie for the kids.

The Raid Redemption - One of the best fight/martial art movies I ever seen. Some of the best fight scenes. I'm going to see it again soon.

Moneyball - It's on Starz right now and I'm thinking this will be a movie I will watch everytime its on now.

                The Hammer.

It's the story of recently retired UFC fighter, Matt "The Hammer" Hamill, who overcame being deaf to not only be a 3-time NCAA Division III National Champion, but a successful UFC fighter as well.

The movie centers around Matt's childhood/teen/college years. You see the struggles he went through being deaf and how he learned to read lips and communicate with others by talking, not signing (although when he goes to RIT, he's forced to learn to become a better signer).

I thought the movie was solid. The deaf actress from Weeds plays Matt's college girlfriend, and she's very good in her role. The actor that portrayed Hamill did a good job, too, and I thought the grandfather was strong in his limited role.

The movie's on Netflix Instant Stream for those that want to check it out. I think it's worth the 90 minutes.

Finally got around to watching Shutter Island last night. Not sure if I ended up liking it or dis-liking it.

My brain is still trying to play catch up and decide if it was awesome (certain parts surely were) or a let down if you know what I mean....

I probably need to watch it again.

I haven't personally seen it, seeing as someone told me the ending and I kind of want to wait to watch it in hopes that I forget it.. but I've been told that if you miss even a minute of the movie, you're basically screwed in understanding it.

I feel like I understood it well enough but it was late and I was tired so I could have missed some key things I think. Definitely not the type of movie where you can just throw it on and only pay part attention to it and it does a good job of building suspense at times but I'm still not sure if I'm a fan of the ending etc.

I've got this DVR'd at the moment but haven't watched it yet. Not that I was completely excited before but I have somewhat less of an interest to watch it after your review. I was trying to think of what else Ronan was in that I've seen somewhat recently and then I remembered it was "The Lovely Bones." Thought she did a great job in that.

If its any consolation I thought the movie was really good.
