Watched High Noon last night, Gary Cooper. Excellent flick. I actually felt Cooper' sense of dread as the gunfight drew nearer and nearer.

Bradley Cooper has always been high on my list, but this is the first time I've seen him lead a film by himself, and I was impressed. Almost sorry that I missed this one in theaters, but for now the Netflix viewing is all I'll need from it.
Glad to hear this. I'll be watching a lot of movies this weekend (having oral surgery tomorrow) and this is in my queue, so I'll certainly give it a go.

It's a fun movie. I have problems with it (surprise!) but they don't actually ruin the fun of the film (at least they didn't for me). I won't get into it now.

Yeah, the film veers off course a little bit, but the premise is very fun, and I think a sequel will allow the writers to expand their story ideas (and negate the crappy ones they used in this one).

            The Artist

I'm fine with it being silent. Half the story and 95% of the performances would be lost if it wasn't.
I'm fine with it being in black & white.
            But a 1:33:1 blu-ray in 2012? Puh-leez.

Lovely performances,John Goodman was hilarious and it's impressive to be able to still make something in this style so it has some merit. However I didn't much care for the story. I just can't get behind a guy that loves his dog more than his wife and is practically cheating on her. There's nothing to root for there. Plus he's kind of a ****. I guess you could say root for Peppy but I felt bad for her instead. The ending was just plain terrible.

Think Like A Man: Entertaining romantic-comedy that made me laugh throughout the movie. But at times I felt like I was watching an infomercial for the book.

I saw Rock of Ages last weekend, and hope to see Ted, The Dark Knight Rises and maybe some others like the Watch soon. Rock of Ages was great. I usually don't like musicals, but it was awesome. Great singing and acting.

The Killing. Not a movie, but 2 season AMC TV show. For "who dunnit" crime/mystery shows it was pretty good. Glad I watched it straight through (blu ray for season 1 and online methods for season 22) which eliminated the Season 1 cliffhanger for me. Probably would have worked just as easily by have 1 crime per season vs. 2 seasons for 1 crime.

                  Pretty satisfying ending, IMO.

Saw a whole bunch of movies on netflix

Simple yay or nay on whether to watch. None of these are anything to write home about.

                      The Trotsky

Dumb, but I'll give it a yay. Plus it has Jay Baruchel

                      I'm Reed Fish

Tries to be too cute, dumb. I'll still give it a yay. Plus it has Jay Baruchel

                      Calvin Marshall

Yay? I'm not sure, probably a nay. Maybe I'm just a sucker for sports related films. Plus it has Steve Zahn!

                      The Vicious Kind

Really liked this one, so yay.

                      The Go-Getter

It has Zooey, but this is a nay.

                      Paper Man

Starts off slow, but Jeff Daniels and Emma Stone make it a yay.

30 Minutes or Less. This was decent. Not close to being as funny as Zombieland. Would recommend as a rental first.

                            Coach Carter

If inspirational sports film cliches are not your cup of tea or a part of your film watching repertoire, then there will just be no pleasing you, even when a good film like this comes around. Yeah, it's a little too preachy like they all are, but hey, at least it's good. Samuel L. Jackson as your basketball coach? I was in from the start. It hit on multiple angles of the sport both on and off the court, and it featured both better and worse side-plots with the players/coach and their individual lives.

I'm surprised it took me so long to see the film, and I don't know if I'm swooned easily with high school sports films, but I normally admire them all. This was no exception.

                                Serpico.

Pacino is amazing in this film based on the real-life story of Frank Serpico, who attempted to clean up the NYPD. Pacino, when he gets intense, is so believable in this film, and he pulls off the quirkiness of Serpico very well.
