I watched Prometheus last night, all I have to say is I was disappointed... It felt like I was watching rookies put in the most important roles in their field...

Just finished watching Lawless. I blind-bought the Blu-Ray and it was well worth it. I'm usually not a fan of old settings like this, but it was really well done and I was entertained.

Every actor was solid, although I know there's not many fans of Shia LeBeouf and he's the main focus of the movie, so those people might not enjoy the movie as much.

Also, Tom Hardy was a boss. He kills everything he's in.

The Lookout - This movie. It just felt weird. For how long they took to get to the actual plot nothing is really built up that much. JGL and Jeff Daniels are great and it would be have been a lot more interesting to do a 50/50-esque story with those two characters, but outside of that it was just odd. And there are a couple scenes that are just godawful corny. Worth $4 at least.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Well I just watched a hitherto unknown (to me) Clint Eastwood flick from the '70s called The Gauntlet (1977). It's a flawed but I think pretty good movie. It's not something i'd go out of my way to watch but its entertaining enough:

A hard but mediocre cop is assigned to escort a prostitute into custody from Las Vegas to Phoenix, so that she can testify in a mob trial. But a lot of people are literally betting that they won't make it into town alive.
That pretty much summarizes it. I thought it was cool that Eastwood would go a little outside of his established character forte at that point in time and play a guy who probably WANTS to be a Dirty Harry type but is just plain ol' mediocre at his job. The script is pretty vague on a lot of things but there are quite a few nice scenes such as when Eastwood meets the hooker (played by Sondra Locke) and you find out how much of a er well bitch she is. Eastwood's character Ben Schockley is also not the brightest bulb in the world and it literally takes him a whole night to put the clues together in regards to the police/mob connection. That being said the mediocre material is saved by Eastwood and Locke's acting and while it doesn't have any great action to speak of there are some things to it that make it charming like Eastwood literally talking a gang of bikers into dispersing and leaving a bike for he and the hooker to drive off on.

So it's no great shakes but it's enjoyable enough. It's not very plausible but you ALMOST believe that something like this could be pulled off just by the sheer acting of Eastwood alone. Eastwood also directed this and he does a great job with a couple scenes employing a moving/shaking cam during a scene where a house is literally shot down to pieces and another scene where he's being beaten up and Locke is in the process of being raped.

I give this about 2 stars out of 4

Just watched The Amazing Spider-Man, it was pretty good but a reboot of the series within my own lifetime is kind of a bad idea. It felt like I was watching the same events over only with a different take on the story (different crew making the movie).

                    Silent Night

Started out as so bad it's decent. Then Malcolm McDowell clearly started having a good time and was upgraded to so bad it's good.

Seen Skyfall on Saturday and I really thought the movie was going to killed from overhype, but it turned out this movie lived up to it. I could say its my favorite bond, but my biggest gripe was the lack of gadgets to really call it my favorite bond. Other than that it was a solid action film. I also got around to see flight on Sunday and it was a solid movie, but still not too sure if it was based on a true story or not.

The sound on the blu ray is AWESOME. I had the house shaking last night.

It straddles the line. The movie mirrors the life of a former Air Canada pilot who became an overnight sensation after an emergency landing and then finding out the realities of being a media hero when a reporter dredged up his long forgotten criminal record. The movie more or less is a parallel from my understanding.
