Re: What movies have you seen recently?
American History X -- one of these that just got away from me over the years and finally got around to it. Overall I thought it was impactful, but a few of the interactions were a bit odd.... unnatural. And the thing that really left me a bit disappointed was.......
SpoilerNorton's reaction at the end while holding his brother. I thought his portrayal of sorrow and remorse was not acted all that well. Seemed a bit wanting.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Wreck it Ralph. Enjoyed it a lot. Must see for old school gamers.
Bolt 3D. Already one of my favorite Pixar movies...3D just adds to that. Easy recommendation.
Alice in Wonderland 3D. It was alright. I got bored mid-way through. The ending was pretty good though. Won't be re-watching any time soon.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I'm currently watching Colombiana on TV, but like the last time I tried watching it, it's just kind of running in the background and I have no idea what's going on. I don't think this film really deserves my attention, but I'm trying my best while doing other things.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
AHHHH!!!!!
I wrote a whole big post and it got gobbled up "sigh"
Oh well i'll capsulize then:
The Law in Her Hands (1936): Fun, breezy flick that's undermined by nerve grating sexual politics, Margaret Lindsay stands out in this. 2 out of 4 stars
Two in the Dark (1936): Very atmospheric beginning to this "amnesia victim" film that devolves into a whodunit. Film is buoyed by the presence of Alan Hale Sr. who livens up the proceedings. Walter Abel was a great character actor but is a bit over his head in the leading man role. The first 5-6 minutes are an excellent example of conveying information without dialogue. 2 out of 4 stars.
I will ensure I never get a post gobbled up again by putting it on notepad or something and transposing it here.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Bolt isn't Pixar, just Disney. Still one of the better non-Pixar animated movies released recently though (alongside Tangled and How to Train Your Dragon), though not quite as good as either of those IMO.

Red Dawn
A movie that proves that one probably should not wear an Elmer Fudd cap while yelling a battle cry.

Jack the Giant Slayer 3D- 8.5
Pretty fun movie, nothing truly spectacular but a very fun flick to watch. The story was well told and the cast was pretty entertaining, not sure if Ewan McGregor character was suppose to be awkward but the overall movie was pretty cool and the special effects were well doneComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The Fighter.
Very well done. Sheesh, what a family. I thought that some of the earlier boxing match scenes were a bit light in terms of authenticity of the punches. Overall very good story. I'm wondering how much of it overall was true to life. Since there was apparently involvement of the actual family in the making of this, I assume it was pretty close.Comment

Here Comes The Boom.
This was a fun movie. Kevin James knows how to write to his audience, that's for sure. I saw Warrior well before this and man, the story in HCTB has a lot of similarities, that's for sure.
Bas Rutten was awesome; UFC needs to brings him to commentate fights every now and again.Currently Playing:

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Watched Flight earlier. It was decent, but really the first 15-20 minutes of the movie are the best it has to offer. I wasn't really expecting the ending to be what it was either, which was kind of nice.
If it wasn't for Denzel, this movie probably would have been pretty terrible to be honest. It was like LeBron carrying some of those awful early Cavs teams to the playoffs.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
