Saw The World's End last night. Still debating it in my mind, but I think it tops Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Saw Oblivion last night. Decent entertainment but it didn't quite live up to its concept to me....and the ending was a little too Hollywood.

Woody Harrelson is a damned good actor with one heck of a resume. He has been in some terrific movies and he always delivers.

A Clockwork Orange - What a marvelous film. I think my favorite element of the movie is the soundtrack, especially in the first section of the film. It's just so awesome to hear such light music during "Ultraviolence." It's a great touch.

Lords of Salem - Wanted to watch this in theaters, as I'm a big Rob Zombie fan, but the local theater didn't show it. Picked this up when it came out on DVD and didn't get to watch it until last night. Definitely not for children haha, it was pretty demented and just all-around wild, but I loved it. The ending kinda disappointed me, though.

I thought A Clockwork Orange was just going to be some demented shocker, but it really was an amazing and fascinating piece of art. It is one of my favorite films; but at the same time not one I want to see often lol. One of the most stylized flicks I have seen that really works.

That's how I feel with my favorite Kubrick films.

Star Trek: Into Darkness. I think it was even better the second time around.

When it comes to Kubrick I acknowledge his greatness as a director but most of his movies just leave me dizzy and/or cold. I will say though that I quite enjoy Spartacus, Dr. Strangelove and The Shining. I enjoy huge swaths of 2001 but there's a lot of that movie that leaves me a little bewildered.

                      Great and eccentric talent though.

                        The Killing?

Its by far the "straightest" Kubrick film I've seen. Spartacus and Lolita are part of the handful I haven't gotten yet, though.

Haven't seen that one but seeing that it's a Sterling Hayden flick I will track it down.

I won't tell Stephen King that you like Kubrick's version of The Shining (I like King but also like the movie).

I hated The Shining. Absolutely hated it.

That's also because I read the book two weeks before seeing it for the first time and I had never read any comparisons between the two, but I heard people call The Shining incredible....so I expected it to be incredible like the book and, well, that didn't happen.

I never want to watch it again, though I know I should so I can appreciate Jack's performance.
