Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Saturday the 14th
Sometimes a movie just wins and that's it.
1. Jeffrey Tambor as a vampire.
2. The only show that plays on the TV is the Twilight Zone...even when the TV is off.
3. The house is on Elm street...it came out 3 years before Nightmare on Elm street.
4. Bathtub shark that turns into one of those things from Humanoids from the Deep.
5. "Owls."
6. "We don't know who that guy is."Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Kick *** 2 - The RT score on this is a bit ridiculous. Its not at all on the same level as the first (Big Daddy's loss is still felt), but it is still a good movie on its own. Lots of laughs through out and Jim Carrey was barely recognizable and gave an awesome performance in his short amount of screen time. Hit Girl again steals the show which means Kick-*** basically got half a movie out of 2. McLovin as the villain was great and his performance was, if nothing else, interesting. I found Hit Girl and The Mother****er's developments to be pretty great, but everybody else was flat. KA was pretty much just a rubber wall to bounce things off of and all the new side characters were basically cardboard standees.
Also, I thought the action was kind of minimal, though still badass.
I hope we at least get a Hit Girl film in the future because she certainly deserves her own film.
Haywire - I found this to be a pleasant surprise. I'll give Gina a pass on her acting for her first couple of films since most action stars are pretty wooden with dialogue and dramatic scenes initially. The action was great and the story was good enough to not make your eyes roll incessantly like a lot of other action films.

Clear History-It was like a 90 minute long Curb episode. Solid Stuff.
The World's End- there's plenty of laughs to be had, but clearly the weaker of the 3 filmsComment

Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster (1966)
Not the strongest Godzilla movie and actually it didn't even start off as a Godzilla film as it was originally going to be a Japanese King Kong movie. I rather like this little flick as it was well acted and some of the Komedy! actually paid off in terms of plot.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I highly doubt it. The comics are ending with the 3rd run so the movies likely will too. She did have her own comic but it was to branch 1 and 2.Comment

Warm Bodies. Enjoyable. Interesting take on the zombie subject. Had never heard of Teresa Palmer before. She is very easy on the eyes.Comment

Kick *** 2 - Poop. I enjoyed the first one but only two characters were worth watching and one doesn't get much screen time. Definitely a snore fest.Comment

The Place Beyond the Pines
It wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be, but I did enjoy it. It's a bit on the long side, and it does drag some in the middle. I loved the plot line though and how things came together in the end, even though it was somewhat predictable.
I'd give it a 7.5/10.Comment
