Regarding Sellers, I've found that he's very interesting to watch even in his not so stellar movies. If you haven't seen it you should check out Being There (1979) which IMO is his most gripping work. Sadly, it was his last film.

On the lighter side of the spectrum The Party (1967) which could never be made today was laugh out loud funny as hell thanks to Sellers' great work in it.

Sellers has literally brought me to tears from laughter in the Pink Panther movies, lol.

Clue - First time watching this and I can tell why its a "cult" classic with people my age. The cast is amazing and the pacing is so quick that its easy to miss the "clues" much less the actual (and hilarious) dialogue. Tim Curry running around at the end was fabulous. Martin Mull was kind of chunky in this.

              This is the End

Decent comedy movie, then decent horror comedy movie. So you could say it's decent I suppose. I had no idea who Jay Barachel was so I thought he was the one character while everyone else was themselves for at least part of the movie. I still don't know who he is but I know he's an actor too and have in fact seen 3 of his movies.

Having seen Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen in the same place finally confirms they're not the same person. I'm pretty sure Jesse Eisenberg wasn't in the movie so jury is still out on him and Cera being the same person. Also the first time I haven't mistaken Craig Robinson as Griff from Married with Children.

Watched the old classic Double Indemnity. Terrific movie and it's reputation is well deserved. I can't believe it didn't make Fred MacMurray a huge star. He was sensational.

He was already a somewhat known quantity at that time. He never rose to being a huge star but he was in that solid 2nd tier behind some of the greats of his generation.

I liked that unlike a lot of his other contemporaries he transitioned to TV and older roles as he aged.

                    X-2: X-Men United (2003)

A bit delayed on my Modern Movie Monday but I watched this and it's the best of the X films so far. The adaptation of God Loves, Man Kills (1983 Graphic Novel) was well done and I didn't mind the change of Stryker from televangelist to military/scientist type who has a tie to Wolverine's past.

This movie is even more of Wolverine's show and I thought it was excellent as we saw the evolution his character as a person. I also liked how they used the classic X-Men trope of villains having some redeeming qualities by having Magneto help to take down Stryker though he does revert to his old ways in the last half hour or so.

The movie is structurally sound with good character interaction, solid story and great action scenes. The main fault however is a bit of a glaring one as once again the lack of development of the Jean Grey/Scott Summers relationship hampers the emotional crux of the film as the movie also adapts from the Phoenix story. As people who've read the comics know Jean and Scott are a fully formed couple at this point in time and they're SUPPOSED to be that way in the movies but we're always being TOLD rather than really shown that depth of love and feeling between the two. It totally hollows out the emotional punch of the film's conclusion and its what drops this down from 5 stars to.....

                    A solid **** stars

Only God Forgives - After seeing Drive I felt that Ryan Gosling has made a name of himself as one of Hollywood's elite actors but his last two films were disappointments. I am not basing this from his acting but from those movies he was in. This film was beautifully shot in Bangkok but the movie overall lacked character development and storyline. The first 15 minutes of this movie looked promising and it faded from there. This film had so much potential it just wasn't executed well. I give this movie a 6/10.

I'm trying to decide between Gravity and Prisoners for the weekend.

                            No Holds Barred

This could be one of the worst movies ever made. Somehow I tolerated this as a kid, I guess because I was a huge Hulk Hogan mark and was just happy to see him on the big screen.

Hogan's "acting" is terrible. The story is even worse. Honestly, I can't think of one redeeming quality to this movie.

Do not waste your time with this.

Rush - Probably the best movie that I've seen at the theater this year. Like I said on Twitter, it's like testosterone captured on film. But besides that, it tells a gripping story about two F1 rivals while mixing in some great racing scenes. I didn't even know this was based on actual drivers until the end of the movie. I've started to form an appreciation for F1 over the past year, but you don't have to dig racing to enjoy the movie. The story on its own will hold your interest.

There's some great acting in Rush. The way that the relationship between Nicky Lauda and James Hunt evolves throughout the movie was really interesting to watch. They were both such polar opposites, and I think that's what made it so intriguing. In the end, I think they both learned lessons from each other. I especially liked the actor who played Nicky. He was supposed to be an *******, but he still had a charm and wise ways about him. I could appreciate his intensity.

I also liked the way they mixed in a lot of comedy throughout the film. Both drivers have some great lines, and it adds some nice humorous relief during their intense rivalry. There wasn't really anything that I disliked about it. Awesome movie.
