I haven't seen those in forever, but whenever I go back and watch comedies from that era they are usually funnier than I remember them being. Maybe because it feels like that level of silliness doesn't exist anymore in movies. Revenge of the Nerds holds up like that.

As a kid I never picked up on half as many of the "adult" jokes that they have. I go back and on forth on Guttenberg, but that cast is ****ing hilarious besides.

That time of the year. As many times as I know Fox had this movie playing on TV as a kid I've never watched the actual movie.

Fun movie for the most part. Definitely not breaking any molds or bringing much to the table outside of it's dated 90s charm and at times hokey homages to 70s and early 80s horror films with no budgets. Basically this feels like the precursor to The Charmed series without the hotness of Alyssa Milano.

Fairly basic and straightforward "new kid and mean girls" narrative.

I'm not sure what it is, but as a kid Neve Campbell always hit that nerve with me. Maybe it's the biting lip thing she does, but she works it here in the second half of the movie. Nancy (Fairuza Balk) is the MVP of the movie. New kid Robin Tunney made me think of Gilmore Girls the whole damn time. And this is yet another 90s movie that includes a black girl as one of the main friends, but gives her barely any dialogue or any role of consequence.

If you like witches, 90s alt rock, and teenage female empowerment this is your jam.

As an aside I want to watch either all the Freddy movies or Jason movies. What say you, OS?
Both series have their ups and downs - especially as you get deeper & deeper into the franchises - but Friday the 13th has more watchable movies than the Nightmare series (even if they become predictable).

I'd go with the Friday the 13th movies first, then Nightmare on Elm St.

What movies have you seen recently?

Watching James Bond Spectre for the first time tonight on 4K HD.

I never got around to seeing this years ago despite being a huge Bond. I bought the 4K Blue Ray as I have every single Bond film on Blue Ray (have that awesome blue ray box set from several years ago in that handsome black and gold box that even had a slip for Skyfall even though it was not out at the time I purchased it). I snagged it on a Cyber Monday from Amazon for $59.99 was a no brainer.

So we will give it a watch. And then start from the beginning and do a Bond marathon like Yankees is, to lead up to Daniel Craig’s final Forth coming Bond film.

Casino Royale is in my top 5 of all time and Skyfall in my top 10.

Welcome to the Bondathon. Bond 50 has made it so much easier to do this than it ever was before, I love it.

Watched Clue: The Movie the other night; one of my all-time favorite movies. Likely due to nostalgia, but it's always been a pick-me-up movie when I need it. The humor for me still largely holds up. Love the entire cast but Leslie Ann Warren and Tim Curry are the standouts here.

Curious, did anyone see this in the theater and if so, what ending did you get? I still have never selected to receive a random ending as I grew up on the home movie version that showed all 3, and still go that route.

Ha!!! Yes saw it in the movies with my high school sweetheart.

Got the Tim Curry did it ending, if my memory serves me correctly.

As a huge slasher fan and a huge fan of both those series, Armor is pretty much spot on. I would say to go ahead and watch F13 part V too, only because it does actually continue the story from IV to VI. It's not horrible. Better than VIII and X IMO.

He's right on the Nightmare series too. And if you haven't watched the Halloween series, definitely try to fit that one in too. As far as my favorites go with the big three slashers, it's Halloween, F13, and Nightmare.

Also, if you feel like it after you watch those, check out some the excellent F13 fan films. Some are as good or you can argue even better than the actual feature films.

Anyone who hasn't seen A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More, for the love of god go watch those. They've been dissected 1000 times over by film historians, "spaghetti westerns," the music, the closeups of faces were lit like renaissance paintings, etc etc, that's all true and awesome, but just forget all that and go into it like you are watching any movie. God they are great.

Old. The movie directed by M. Knight Shimalayan. It had a cool trailer so i wanted to give it a watch.

Boy it was bad. I should of known. M. Knight Shimalayan movies always have cool trailers but his movies (outside of the Sixth Sense and The Village) never fail to disappoint me.

I highly don't recommend this movie.

                              Happy birthday Christopher Reeve!

Superman 2: The Donner Cut (5/5): Honestly don't even remember the theatrical, I've only seen the Donner Cut since it came out. What's not to love? Lois jumping out of a window, shooting Clark with a blank to get the secret out, Gene Hackman is hilarious, KNEEL BEFORE ZOD, even the flying around the Earth doesn't bother me as much as it used to, I think the visual of it is kinda cool. Also funny watching this during my Bondathon because the same sheriff that I hated in The Man with the Golden Gun is in this playing...you guessed it, a sheriff. Christopher Reeve forever and for always will be Superman.

The Green Knight (3.5/5): Thought I would hate it, really weird movie. I liked everything involving the Green Knight himself, so the first half hour and the last half hour. I didn't really understand what was happening through the journey, but the end vision brought it home nicely to me. Reading around, the poem is about a guy striving to prove himself honorable and slipping up, but the movie is more about a guy who thinks achieving a certain status will turn him into the person he wants to be, and through the vision he realizes the only thing that can give him the life he wants is to live his life that way. Kinda reminds me Soul, don't take the journey for granted and all of that. I think I'll like it even more on rewatch.

Tomorrow Never Dies (3/5), The World is Not Enough (2.5/5), Die Another Day (1/5)

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 4K

First time watching these since I saw them in theaters.

First, the 4k is amazing. They did a great job with it, just like the original trilogy 4k.

The movie itself was more boring than I remembered, I remembered enjoying it when I originally saw it. That isn't to say that it was bad though. The Hobbit certainly had it's moments, and it was fun to see this universe again. It certainly did not have me nearly enthralled as I was on my Fellowship of the Ring re-watch last December.
