Goodness gracious, I wish I could. The thing of it was, the spoilers didn't even have to be true to lessen my film-watching experience, but a moment or two was really taken away from me to the point that I was less affected as a result.

They really just have no filter when it comes to that kind of exposure. I tease them all of the time with the pre-screenings that I see, but I always leave them hanging all the time and speak very generally. I never spoil a thing, and for good reason. It's just the right way to go about it.

Saying I had no desire to see this movie is a huge understatement!
I thought the previews looked cheesy and figured this movie would be horrible.
My GF loves Anne Hathaway and drug me to see this yesterday.
Again she had to drag me to see it and I complained all the way to the theatre.

I was wrong, this movie was actually pretty damn good!
I must say I really enjoyed it. I was highly surprised at the plot and Anne Hathaway was really good.

For the sake of mankind please say you didn't admit that to her

I might've missed the thread for this but:

The Incredibles 2

Lived up to my expectations, and the first is one of my favorite animated and superhero movies ever. It changed everything for me, so I didn't expect 2 to have the same impact just as much as it needed to be enjoyable. And it was very much that.

The animation style is beautiful, the plot is cool if not a little predictable, the power uses are awesome, Elastigirl on the bike was very cool to see, Edna remains the GOAT. Jack Jack vs Raccoon for fight of the year.

The early reviews for Incredibles 2 looks good. 8.8/10 so far on IMDB with almost 5000 reviews, 94% on RT(95% user average). For comparison, the original got 8/10 on IMDB and 97% on RT(75% user average). Sequels are typically worse than the original, so having this sequel look like it is actually better than the original seems great.

I guarantee there will be just as many in their early-mid 20s in the theatres as there are kids.

That's something these rating systems should improve on. Recency voting VS ones early on. Similar with Amazon products and other things. People's ratings early might say one thing, but let's see what people say later on, during specific timeframe.

IMDb ratings shouldn't be allowed until the release date of the movie. I see same with tv shows getting rated beforehand. Good or bad, they do get unfairly rated early which might change how people view it

Yeah, but then you get somebody like me who sees a lot of pre-screenings and tries to write reviews early on. They disqualified my long Ocean's Eight review because apparently there wasn't enough evidence by my review that I actually saw the film or something, which I think is ridiculous.

Their Top 250 rating system is very obscure though and no one knows how they do it, whose votes they count, or anything like that. The regular one counts all of them though, but they start to not reveal them until the films' releases now.

I'm sure there's a big system to it. Imdb isn't just some fan site, it's a legitimate site for tv/movie industry. You can even contact agents and others for actors if you have the proper credentials on the site.

I've honestly never checked IMDB reviews/Rotten Tomatoes/anything before seeing a movie I'm interested in.
