It was the silliness that got to me, or perhaps the immediate change from the other Thor films into this one. Literally everything had to be a laughing gag. I couldn't believe it. It barely even made me crack a smile, either. That's too bad, because generally these films do that. This one missed the boat by a longshot, though.

Visuals also weren't that good at all. Not just the CGI, but the overall green screen stuff too.

This is my absolute least favorite complaint about comic book movies.

Well, it all depends on the way that it's presented. Some films are all style and no substance. This isn't quite that, and they really couldn't do without CGI so I understand that much, but I think the effects themselves were actually pretty poor. Several of the other Marvel movies were visually much more impressive than this one, I guess is what I'm trying to say. And honestly, I think the green-screening was actually worse than the CGI.

I think I liked the "fish out of water" version of Thor more. I don't mind that he evolved to who that he did, but the rapid transformation combined with the fact that every character and every action decided to transform with it was like a huge slap in the face.

Don't know, haven't been there since the film came out.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Ragnarok. Overall entertaining, but I didn't like the complete change of tone from the first 2 movies.

Just watched Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets a few nights ago. That movie was...terrible. Just awful. Plot was meh, acting was bad, and the CGI was worse (CGI looked like a medium budget film from the 90s). It did have Cara Delevingne though which was nice.

I loved Ragnorok as well. Pretty surprised by the harsh criticism. Especially since most people didn't really enjoy the first two at all. I happen to like all three but that's just me.

I didn't say it was terrible, I said it was stupid. There is a big difference. I thoroughly enjoyed it more than the previous Thor movies, but at least I agreed its tone where was it should have been at in the past. This got downright silly. Literally everything was some sort of a gag. It didn't feel like it belonged at all.

Really, I think a part of it was that I was sitting there realizing what was going on: "Ooh, I see. They want to humanize Thor more by cutting his hair and having him crack jokes. Total response to the previous two's criticisms." I hate commentaries like that. Justice League did the same thing, and it felt so out of place.

That is just my opinion, of course.

No, I'm not talking about the film's content. I'm talking about the commentary of it all. Everything was such a knee-jerk kind of: "Folks, we need to be lighter like Marvel." This began with Suicide Squad with that awesome trailer, but then the film actually became trailer-edited for the first half of it. Then you saw JL's marketing, and Joss Whedon's influence as well. It's their way of saying: "See? We can be lighthearted and fun too! See what we're doing here?"

I liked Justice League quite a bit, myself. I was actually surprised how much it was panned.

Adrift

Just saw this tonight with the wife. She wanted to see it way more then I did but I have to say I really enjoyed it. Shailene Woodley is a much better actress then I knew. I hadn't really seen her in much other then the Divergent movies. She did a great job with her role. Was very intense and thought provoking at times. Not necessarily a must see at the theater but I would definitely catch it when it comes out on blu ray.
