Seen this a thousand times and it hits every time.

    Drive My Car (4/5)

Wanted to watch this because I'm pretty close to having seen all of the Best Picture nominees, and I needed to watch something to build up my tolerance for 3 hour movies before The Batman. I thought it was pretty great, really beautifully shot and directed. The runtime is weird because it didn't feel as long as it was but it still definitely could've cut some stuff out, and I think it would've made it a better movie personally. You could probably cut the entire first 45 minutes and the movie wouldn't lose much, but my issue is really more of a "show, don't tell" thing. Because the runtime is so long they end up showing us a lot, but then they end up telling us all of the same stuff later on in the movie.

My Best Picture nominees ranked (even though it seems to be consensus Power of the Dog is going to sweep and I still need to see West Side Story and Nightmare Alley)
    Coda (4.5/5)
    Drive My Car (4/5)
    Belfast (4/5)
    Dune (4/5)
    Licorice Pizza (3.5/5)
    Don't Look Up (3.5/5)
    Power of the Dog (3/5)
    King Richard (3/5)
Do The Right Thing is a favorite of mine great cast. How can you go wrong with Rosie Perez and Gus Fring?

Hadn't seen the "extended cut" of That Thing You Do! in a while. It's still a solid movie, but the extended cut's scenes add more to it imho. Shame it can only be found on the blu ray.

        West Side Story (2.5/5)

Great set design and cinematography, the movie looks great. The part where they sing America was cool. Pretty good as far as musicals go but I'm just not big on them so there's a ceiling.

        The Batman

I'm going to watch some reviews and let someone talk me off the ledge because as of this moment, I want to flame the hell out of this movie man. An hour too long, I specifically went to see it in the morning so I didn't fall asleep and I almost did anyway, the riddles are trash. Zoe as Catwoman is great, Gotham looks great (Gotham Square Garden, you already know the vibes). I honestly might owe Nolan an apology after this. I've been flaming Dark Knight Rises for years and now I feel like I'd rather watch that again than this. I do not like sad Bruce Wayne. Batman is already an inherently dark character, you don't need to make him a reclusive shut-away to get that across. Half the fun is seeing him fake the funk and act up in public. There's a point when Catwoman has a red wig on and I felt like that was the first time in the whole movie I had seen some color, Dune-esque with the color palette. When people started comparing it to Zodiac I knew I should've been worried. I think I'm going to have to Blzer my way into these movies in the future, so much of the best stuff was in the trailer.

I watched Whiplash for the first time yesterday.

What an insane, intense, uncomfortable movie.

          I loved it.

The part where he kept switching all 3 drummers for hours and the actual band didn't get to practice until 2 in the morning? Nuts.

All of it was raw and unsettling. Him leaving the car crash to get on stage was also wild.

Oh never that. I think part of it is I just had such high expectations because the Apes movies might be my favorite trilogy ever.

                        Spoiler

I liked the movie, and I’m happy for all the people who love it for sure. Still trying to figure out what to rate it, it’s either a 3.5 or a 4. I think it suffers a little bit from Spiderman FFH syndrome where as a fan, you’re just waiting for the Mysterio turn, there’s no mystery. When people compare it to Se7en, I think the biggest advantage that movie has is you actually don’t know what’s going to happen.

Have you looked at the rogerebert website? There are a large number of reviews there. Including the new batman, too.
Have you thought about buying an essay? There is a huge number of services that will write it for you. Here are examples of essays you can get for little money - https://edubirdie.com/examples/ . On the site, you will be able to talk to the author before you hire him or her. Explain the requirements and everything. Also, you don't need to pay money up front. I advise you to set a deadline a few days before your deadline at the institute.
