Re: True Blood Season 2 Discussion

I misread. I thought you meant the other way around and that Bill should give Eric a beatdown.

Not sure why Eric should give Bill a beatdown. I see Bill as trying to balance both worlds and is caught, but is being faithful, loyal and protective.... as you or I might be to a girlfriend, fiancee or wife. However, most vamps I guess see him as being uppity considering their typical moral structure.

From a Vampire perspective, Bill is out of line. And from a human perspective, he doesn't practice what he preaches. But he might be turning the corner on that.

IDK...does Eric hold some type of "office" position over Bill or is it that he's just older/stronger and now coveting his human? Also, how is he not practicing what he preaches? But if you mean he's trying to "evolve", yes, that's pretty clear.

Eric is the Sherriff of his district. Bill reports to him.

Bill is trying to evovle and do the right things. Well, according to Bill. He wants Sukie, yet doesn't condone Hoyt and Jessica(although he's starting to). He made a vampire out of an unwilling innocent person in Jessica to promote his own agenda. He defies Eric's commands.

He means well, but if he had his druthers he would rather have the best benefits of being a vampire and being a human. Perhaps I'm wrong, but if given the option, I don't know for sure that he would choose mortal despite it seems to be leaning that way.

He's just trying to have it both ways and its going to end up getting him in trouble, I would imagine.

Oh, right, he's the sheriff (weird term for vamps to adopt). But this is still confusing. He turned an innoncent because that was his "consequence" for killing the vamp who was going to kill Sookie who was in turn helping the vamps in their investigation. Seems backward-arse. The head dude who gave that decree seemed to do it almost as a spiteful move because he knew Bill was trying to reform. What other choice did Bill have at that point? If the vamp bartender dude who was guilty of his crime was simply taken into "vamp custody" what would have been his pennance? Seems that with Sookie helping the vamps at that point to get to the bottom of things would have put her in the same company as a vamp re: the need for protection, especially since she's a telepath and can help them in the future. So, where is he defying Eric's commands?

He has adressed Eric "You will not....yada yada yada." He tries to give the commands sometime. Thats not how it works, he knows it, but Eric is letting him slide for now.

The punishment was spiteful because Bill was trying to reform, but I believe he had an option for a longer crime and not turning the girl. He morally chose the wrong option as far as I see it. Would you kill an innocent person if that was your punishment or would you obstain and take the consequences? He should have obstained.

I'm just writing this from the perspective of vampire hierarchy and the fact that Bill appears to be taking on more morals as a character, but he does things to contradict both.

Maybe he's paying the price for being named "Bill The Vampire"!

WOW!!! 3 episodes left. Tonight was both spectacular and a bit sad with
                    Spoiler
                    and seeing Eric cry.

All hell is breaking loose when they get back to Bon Temps and have to deal with Mary Ann. It was good to see Sam go to Andy and Layfette back to his old self.

Eric's character is becoming my favorite and this past episode really showed both sides of him. The scene at the end with him and Godric was really powerful for the show.
