I've read they're negotiating. Community got a little bump last night, and apparently the rating was on par with last year's finale. With Go On cancelled, they currently only have 5 1/2 hours of scripted television for next year, with only 1 sitcom (Parks and Rec). So unless they're going to put 3 new comedies around Parks and Rec next season, I'd anticipate Community getting picked up. Losing 3 of your 4 Thursday night shows would be very difficult if you don't have anything to move from another night.

Re: Community
Very true. The idea of what kind of degree didn't cross my mind much until last night with the whole graduation thing. Minor detail that has no impact on my enjoyment of the show. But we're talking the feasibility of earning a Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year school in a show that featured two school-wide paintball wars, a pillow/blanket fort war, and had a psychotic former Spanish teacher established a short-lived dictatorship. I think at some point, you really do have to suspend your disbelief.Comment

Re: Community
Another half season eh? Ah well, that's better than nothing I guess. I'm happy. I love the characters and the show post-Harmon really wasn't as bad as the internet tried to make it out to be. Looking forward to it.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Community
Definitely not as bad (but some people wanted to hate the post-Harmon show regardless). Personally, I probably had fewer "laugh out loud" moments than the previous seasons, but I still had more than I do with most shows (and I acknowledge that I watched this season with a sort of fatalism that may have influenced all that...I might feel different about some episodes during my rewatches).
Plus, like you said, I love the characters...Troy and Annie in particular are easily among my all-time favs, if not at the top of the list. Just happy it will be back at all.Comment

Re: Community
I shared the same issues watching the show. I was all too aware of how they were working around Chase's early departure and other missed notes due to backstage stuff. I think the talent of the cast is the only thing keeping the boat in the water.Comment

Re: Community
They made a comment about it being spring semester or something like that, though.Remember, this was a half season, and was supposed to end a while ago - it got pushed back. Their thing all season was Jeff was graduating early. He finished his degree in 3 1/2 years.
Secondly, I know very, very few people that actually finish their degree on time. A four year degree almost always takes at least a semester into your 5th year.Comment

Re: Community
I hope this is real life.
Dan Harmon confirms he's been asked back to executive produce Community.
Dan Harmon just told the audience of his podcast Harmontown that he has been asked to return to Community! As soon as Dan said it, he asked that it be edited out of the podcast and it was just for us audience members(and I wasn’t going to say a word) but soon after that Dan said “Ahhh **** it. I don’t care who knows!” He jokingly said that he would only return if they brought Chevy Chase back too but even he couldn’t stop laughing at that idea.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Community
He had a very bad relationship with Sony, who produces the show. In addition, NBC didn't always love Harmon's writing, though they liked the show and cast, and they thought they may be able to reach a broader audience with it if he wasn't involved. They've also lost other writers and producers from the show who did not enjoy working for him. And the straw that broke the camel's back was his feud with Chevy and his reaction to Chevy refusing to film a scene.Last edited by DonkeyJote; 05-27-2013, 07:45 PM.Comment
