The 80s music definitely made the movie. "Cruel Summer" and "You're The Best Around" were awesome.

Only thing I didn't like was that he never kept the same girl throughout the trilogy. Ali was the best of the 3.

Karate Kid Remake (2010)

Oh boy, we get to start the decade off with yet another remake. This one looks ok, more for Jackie Chan than Will Smith's son.

I have a lot of conflict with this one. The original had a really, really strong script, and our B movies don't hold up to those standards. Also, this is the Karate Kid, but they are doing Kung Fu. Uhm...

Actually, I'm good with this. Like both actors and always thought the original KK's were cheesy. Plus, never had much Ralph Machio love...... at least not like Ms. Swan!

i think this will be more of a comedy than a serious movie.jackie don't do serious. see its jim kelly's fault if he would have never made it to enter the dragon will's lil boy wouldn't be on here.

Actually there was an awesome Sega Master System game called the Kung Fu Kid. I liked it a lot better than Kung Fu.

Hmm, watched the preview and it doesn't look all that bad... this coming from a guy who rarely watches movies. And with Jackie Chan in it, I think it'll do fine; he's still a very charismatic figure on the screen but I would have preferred he have an older look to him much akin to the original Mr. Myagi (sp). I'll definitely rent it when it comes to DVD.
