Seriously, I think this remake will be like most remakes and fall well short of the original material.
Lmao funny cuz the Karate Kid nes game was copied from this game

Thought this remake had a bit of a chance, although the original is a classic. But the trailer did nothing for making me want to see it. Really haven't liked Jaden Smith; he doesn't seem to have his father's appeal/likability - the movies I've seen him in he's come off as bratty and unlikeable (especially The Day the Earth Stood Still remake, which wasn't good to begin with). The original had a great story, very appealing characters, great soundtrack and was unique for it's time. This doesn't appear to have any of those things going for it
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Yeah...Nothing racial, it's just weird seeing a street smart urban kid being the Karate Kid. Daniel was this gawky white kid who didn't really fit in. I know Smith won't fit in, but watching the preview I was just more WTF. Just doesn't really jive with the original enough for me. Plus Smith is damn ripped in the movie, I don't remember Daniel being that fit and chiseled. Just a lot of little things that don't sit well with me.

I'll wait til it hits Redbox. The KK franchise has been all downhill since part 2.

Thats fine but if the Original had a black kid you would say the same thing you are now if they place a Italian guy there today...

I saw this last night and I must say that I loved it (as did almost everyone else in the theatre on base). The first one was a bit before my time, but I think alot of you guys will enjoy it if you go in with a open mind.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

I remember the originals and they were pretty good. Not sure if I'll watch this one or not(probably not). This is just one childhood movie that doesn't really seem interesting enough to me but, it probably will be for the current children of this generation. However the new Toy Story coming soon(in 3D nonetheless) is right up my alley.

Yeah, there's no way I can bring myself to watch it. I have too much of a connection to the original.

This. No Cobra Kai = pass.

Plus, I'm still kinda annoyed by the fact that they have a brother getting his *** beat like he stole something and then he moves to China of all places and becomes Bruce Leroy 2.0? GTFO
