Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat

I will say this clearly, Like I have mentioned before I work in the Tech-Field for a living, so I deal with PC issues everyday, and have to repair and work on PC's everyday. I know many people with Mac's and many with PC's and I will say there are far, far more problems with PC then I ever heard or saw with Mac's period. I can back what I say up in every way because this is my job for the last 10 years. I also do a like of side work away from my day time job, and every time someones PC breaks down that I fix, you know what there answer is, "I should buy a MAC", there not saying this for nothing, obviously they hear things about MAC's reliability.

My cousin is a graphics designer for a living and has been doing it for over 13 years and we always speak about technology and not once has he ever said anything about his MAC breaking down, and he using his machine hard. SO maybe your Dad has just had really bad luck, or maybe it's just 20 years of user error.N.Y Mets

Not really what I'm talking about. As I said in my earlier posts - everything has ups and downs. There aren't really any exceptions.I will say this clearly, Like I have mentioned before I work in the Tech-Field for a living, so I deal with PC issues everyday, and have to repair and work on PC's everyday. By the way, I always worked with computers, and I went through a degree in midrange computers where I used everything from OS 400, Linux, MAC, Windows, and some others I don't even remember. Although, the MAC and Linux stuff was kept to a minimum.

They ALL had issues of their own.

I was simply relating my father's use of them to jmood's mother's use of the same thing.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat

To be somewhat fair, how much of the PC issues ends up being user error as well? I've done tech support too, and most of it is people installing dumb crap on their computers that then ends up causing problems. Personally, I don't click random ish, install unknown programs, etc and I don't get viruses or BSOD's or any of that.I will say this clearly, Like I have mentioned before I work in the Tech-Field for a living, so I deal with PC issues everyday, and have to repair and work on PC's everyday. I agree that OSX is better than Windows overall, so don't get me wrong. I just think user error goes both ways and is what causes a lot of people's problems.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat

I'm sure that has nothing to do with the ridiculous difference in market share, right? Of course you're going to see more PC's with problems when there's more PC's than Mac's. There's probably more stupid PC owners than Mac owners total. Customers saying they should switch to a Mac because they heard they're more reliable? This kind of subjective data is funny.I will say this clearly, Like I have mentioned before I work in the Tech-Field for a living, so I deal with PC issues everyday, and have to repair and work on PC's everyday. Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat

Yeah, I don't know how people end up getting virus's because I've been using my PC now since 2000 and I was probably in 6th grade then. I've downloaded everything imaginable going through my gamer years and now in my music and schooling years and I've never gotten a virus. Possibly pop-up problems but those left with Internet Explorer.

I had to replace a hard-drive once, which was an easy and cheap plus I've been able to upgrade my PC multiple times as technology evolves.

Why should I buy a mac? More reliable? Haven't had that problem. Easier to use? I think I'm capable? Cooler? I'm not using my computer to get women.

PC has a familiar OS, more capability with gaming, cheaper, and I can constantly upgrade my system.

PC fits me, and has never done me wrong. You like Mac? All the power to you, keep Mac'ing. But I think Mac users bash PCs way more than PC users bash Macs. Even the advertising my Mac bashing PC went on for so many years before PC fired back. Now Mac is sour.

 well that's elitism for you.

MS never really publicly fired back when the PC vs Mac commercials were at their peak, since Apple doesn't even have 10% of the market. They kind of sat back and pounced on Apple with a well timed commercial focused on pricing. Apple can't do a thing to counter that in a bad economy, except drop their own prices.Comment

You work in IT and prefer Macs, I'm going to school for CIS and prefer Windows (and I've worked with both platforms since I dabble in multimedia stuff - I also use some Linux). Neither one of our opinions are more right just because we are both in the technology field... it's just a matter of preference.
As another poster mentioned - market share has a lot to do with this.I know many people with Mac's and many with PC's and I will say there are far, far more problems with PC then I ever heard or saw with Mac's period. Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat

This whole thread is a joke. Use the OS of your choice and move on. Why does it matter to some of you what others are using. Both Macs and PCs have positives and negatives, and they both have idiotic fanboys who have a blind loyalty for absolutely no reason. It's no different than all the PS3/360 bull**** that goes on. These arguments will never stop and will never have a declared winner. You will never make someone else see your point when they clearly have no intention of even trying to accept your view. Endless, pointless bickering. That's all these discussions ever bring. True the guys in here have pretty much handled this maturely, but there is still absolutely nothing going on in this thread besides back and forth arguing over an issue that affects none of you, unless you happen to own MS or Apple stock.Comment

Yup, I'm a tech for a living and I prefer Mac, Yes working with PC's everyday is my Job, but on a personal level I take MAC over PC any day. The Reason why PC is so big and Windows is because it's been around for ever so of curse there are more users who prefer windows. Seriously, I don't care what people use as long as you aren't hitting me over the head with reasons for why I'm wrong for liking what I like.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat

I think Mac started this whole girl fight over who is the best. They decided to keep picking on the big dog over and over, and when you see PC people downing Macs, I think it's because of years of Mac's downing PC's. Or else I think we would all not really care about them.

It'd be like if a bunch of G1 guys started hating on the iPhone non-stop, eventually I think they'd have a little fight too. Not on the scale, but you know what I mean.

I hate when people say stuff like the first quote on a message board. The forums are here for discussion and debate. What do you expect to happen?

People are defending their OS the same way they'd defend a sports team. I don't see anything wrong with it. If you don't like the thread, then you can GIT OUT!!
