Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
The OS wars just get so stupid. Anyone I've talked to who works with computers has generally agreed, different OS's aren't better or worse for the most part - they're just different: one will be better here and there, and worse here and there. In the end; it's what you need from it. I've already said that a few times, though, so I'm just going in circles here.
Sure there are failures like Millenium or Vista, but MS has done great with XP and 7. They're great systems that has some great features; just as Linux and MAC OS's... It just depends what the user wants and needs; you pick the OS that is better in the areas you personally need.Last edited by MC Fatigue; 07-21-2009, 09:12 AM.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
Why does everyone bring up price, yes mac's are a little on the end end of price. Let's just get real for a minute, we are really comparing OS in reality. People say that mac's cost a lot, well you get what you pay for, a great machine. You can't compare a freaking netbook to a mac and say or look it;s cheaper and it has Vista and say see look at that mac it's $1,100. That's not what you compare, thats not even on a level to compare. Most adorable PC's with windows are cheaply made and are running Vista home, which IMO is crap. So Mac's are expensive because the hardware is better then most low end PC's of course.N.Y Mets

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
Exactly...all along we've been comparing similar machines and it's well known that the Mac version is much more expensive.
I find it kinda laughable that people are saying "who gives a hell about how much it costs" while we're in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the great depression...
I could afford a Mac, I just personally don't think it's worth the added price. A lot of you do, and there's nothing wrong with that.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
No, they are expensive because Apple can get away with this "we use premium parts" excuse for why their stuff is so expensive and people eat it up. There are so many different ways you can get a PC from having it prebuilt or building it yourself that Macs cost more because of their parts makes no sense whatsoever.

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
My mom has almost exclusively used Macs for a long time and I've used them but they aren't anything special.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
He much prefers the XP laptop he has for home use.
I've actually never had a single good thing to say about my dad's computers either. I've checked them all out, and they've all been pretty poor. The one he currently has now crashes all the time, and if he tries to open an attachment, it freezes and he has to restart and then view it again to get it to work (for every attachment).
Every MAC he's owned has also always had memory issues. He'd have some word processor open, and to open another program and suddenly there's no memory to open the application.
They've tried fixing it, but it's hopeless.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
My dad has used one pretty much since he began using computers (because of where he works, that's what they gave him) and he hates it. I had thought about getting one, and he actually begged me not to waste my money on it.

Your the first person I have ever hear of say anything like that about a MAc. Yet nearly every person I have ever spoken to has encountered what you said on a PC, myself included so I dont know what your point is.Comment

No, I never said MAC's suck. I said my dad has had nothing but problems with them, and dislikes them; that was my point. It was in response to mood's post.Comment
