Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***
Yea, the cabin is still very unclear to me. I feel as if there is something missing. Either a scene that was edited out or a plot point that wasn't explained fully.
Someone says: "Help me." Whether it's Jacob or MiB, the question seems confusing. Why would either of them ask for help in that manner?
I have a tougher time with Claire, though. Her abandoning Aaron to join the MiB (who was impersonating Christian at the time) in Season 4 still makes little sense to me.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***
The real answer is that the producers originally had something different in mind when it came to the Jacob/MiB/cabin scenario. To me, the only way that scene retroactively fits is making the figure in the chair be the MiB, who's impersonating a "trapped" Jacob in order to manipulate Ben & Locke. So I think that can be explained away using a little imagination.

We've seen how effectively the MiB can convince people to follow him/do what he wants through his promises and clever little speeches. I think we're just supposed to assume that Christian was able to convince Claire to follow him. We've been told by that once Jacob or the MiB starts talking to you it's pretty much over as far as the fact that they can convince you of whatever they want through different means, so I think we're just supposed to assume that "Christian" was able to convince her somehow.Comment

I think, to understand the Claire/MiB thing, you have to use the same bit of imagination that you suggest to understand the cabin:

Claire, though? Why would she willingly give up Aaron, the most important thing in her life? What use was she to MiB?
EDIT: Re-reading the episode synopsis where this occurs, it looks like the producers may be hinting that Claire died or was near death when her house at the barracks was hit by an RPG during an attack by Keamy's goons. As I recall, it seemed like the unlikeliest survival of a shoulda-been-fatal attack on the show, as Claire appeared relatively unhurt. This might explain why Miles kept looking at her strangely. I suppose it's possible that Claire was revived and infected by the MiB in the same manner as Sayid was, but for what purpose? Seems like the producers originally had something more in mind regarding the "infected" business (not to mention Aaron's importance), but let it drop.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. There definitely has to be more to the whole thing with the infected. I don't think it was ever explained. Is it imagination? Is it real? What does it mean to be infected?
Yea, we got a glimpse of it with the Temple people, Jack and Sayid, but there has to be more to it. Everyone was talking about the infection. Even Desmond."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Well, it turns out that explanation was extremely well thought out, but also fake. The poster was a former Bad Robot intern who was released 3 years ago. His reasoning may still be correct, but there isn't any inside info.

Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***
I dunno. Sawyer, Kate, Jin, and others traipsed around the Island for awhile without appearing to be corrupted. Only Sayid and Claire are referred to as "infected". It's implied that the MiB accomplished this by reviving levitra review Sayid as he was about seroquel warnings to pass into death. It sorta holds together, as Sayid considered himself a doomed soul with nothing to live for except the promise of being reunited with Nadia in some fashion, and Sayid was useful to MiB as a weapon.
Claire, though? Why would she willingly give up Aaron, the most important thing in her life? What use was she to MiB?
