I think Miles knew Sawyer was hiding something, so he sent Charlotte to find out. I wonder what kind of relationship Miles and Charlotte had if she was willing to do something like that...

Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***

I've been one of the show's biggest defenders among my friends who also watch the show, but I've gotta say that last night and this morning are among the most frustrated I've been with the show since it began.

I've been willing to suspend disbelief about how the characters behave towards the world around them up until this point, but it's just getting kind of tiresome right now. Jack finds all these amazing mirrors at the lighthouse and just smashes them all without knowing their true purpose. Sawyer finds himself on a submarine with Charles Widmore, who clearly knows what the hell is going on, but asks him nothing of substance before leaving. It's like at this point nobody cares what's going on, they just want it to end.

The big "wow" moment at the end of the episode, right before the LOST title hits the screen, wasn't a wow moment at all. The alternate timeline feels completely pointless right now and ok, we get it, all the characters' lives intersect. When Charlotte showed up I didn't say, "Wow, that's amazing!" It was more like, "Oh look, another two people from the island have connected." Then Kate shows up at the end and it's like, so what? Everyone's lives intersect so it's not interesting at all when they appear in each other's lives. We get it by now - do something new with it.

I'm not one of those people who hates episodes unless they provide us with answers, but come on. There are eight episodes left and I would much rather they started to put the puzzle together gradually than let it all out of the bag in a rush at the very end of the show, as they seem to be on the road to doing. I loved the show right through until this season, but right now I'm just honestly a little bit bored with the show. It pains me to say it, but it's true.

The acting is still great and I'm still invested in some of the characters. But Lost was always much more than that to me and the show just doesn't hold the magic it once did. Maybe next week's episode will be amazing and I'll go back on all of this, but so far this season has been a huge disappointment for me.

Well, to be fair, there are eight episodes left before the big season finale. Last night was pretty ho-hum, but it did reveal some things. Widmore and Smokey are not on the same side for one. It's progressing the story to where the story HAS to get, which I think was a good thing.

The only thing that bothered me about last night was when Sawyer asked if Jack got out of the temple. Earlier in the season he didn't give a **** about Jack. Maybe Sawyer still has a plan to kill him, though.

I loved the speech Locke gave Kate about his mom, though. Something tells me we are going to get a flashback for him that will answer a **** ton of things.

Not for sure what kind of relationship they have off the island, but they would have known each other as children on the island.

It's actually priced not too terribly. I'm going to order it soonish.
I've held off on buying the blu-rays one by one. It'll be cheaper to get the boxset.

They were both on the Island as children, sure - but Miles was just an infant.

Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***

I think with Sawyer asking about Jack, it just shows that Sawyer really does care. He's not the same person that came to the Island. Sawyer may be helping Locke right now by lying to Widmore, but he's still running a con on Locke by pretending to be 100% behind him.

Sawyer is rough on the surface, but the one area he has grown since day one on the Island is the care he has for the people he's met on the Island. He says he wants to get Kate off the Island. Sawyer isn't only thinking about her. He wants to save everyone he knows.

Since the flash sideways have been a parallel to character decisions, it's only fitting that Sawyer finally lets go of his intensely secure ways and lets Miles in on his big secret. Sawyer is opening up and he wants to be a true hero.

As for Locke talking about his mother - I'm intrigued. I know MiB has said he was a man but I've never been sure how to really take that comment. Is he just saying what would make Kate trust him by looking into her past (something he's been capable of doing)? I still don't understand how a real man could become black smoke so I'm not entirely convinced that MiB was once a real person. I'm also not entirely convinced that he just wants to get off the Island. He wants to get off and likely do something outside of the Island that Jacob feared would hurt the outside world.

Hmm... let me think out loud here.

Why would Widmore and the smoke monster have an issue with each other? Could it be they really DON'T have an issue with each other but are playing everyone else?

Widmore wants the island and for all we know, SM doesn't care about it, and just "wants to leave."

Something doesn't seem right there. Why would SM leaving have any effect on Widmore finally getting his hands on the island?

So a few thoughts on last night's episode:

                    - Anyone else think that MIB was testing Sawyer? I don't think Widmore wants to kill MIB as Widmore has always just cared about getting Ben. I think they are maybe working together and this was somehow a test for Sawyer.

                    - Is there any chance that MIB is Aaron? With all the crazy time travel/flashing is it possible?

                    - I'm ready for Kate to be gone...I'm sure at some point she will play a role, but right now she's just there to be there and she's pouty.

Widmore wants the island and for all we know, SM doesn't care about it, and just "wants to leave."

Something doesn't seem right there. Why would SM leaving have any effect on Widmore finally getting his hands on the island?
Good point. Considering how manipulative Smokey is, I'm thinking his offer to Ben to become the protector of the island (playing on Ben's need for power/control) was just a ploy to get him to the Hydra so Charles and his people could get their hands on him.

Think Desmond could be in the locked room?

                        Agreed.

When Sawyer said: "I think we both know that that ain't John Locke," Widmore mostly just raised his eyebrows and let Sawyer keep talking.

I took it that Widmore was either 1) surprised that Sawyer knew it was the smoke monster or 2) interested in knowing that the smoke monster is still doing his thing - whatever it might be.

Widmore never said, "Yes, bring him to me so I can kill him." Sawyer was the one that offered and Widmore said: "How do I know I can trust you?"

I don't think Widmore gives a crap about MiB. He's out to prove something else by letting Sawyer go out and try to kill himself.

Also, MiB never said anything that would hint at animosity toward Widmore. When Sawyer said: "You didn't send me there to do recon." Locke basically just said you're right, what did you find out? Sawyer told him that Widmore was there and Locke simply asked: "What did you say to him?" and then thanked him for his loyalty.

It's all camera tricks. They don't dislike each other or care about each other. Neither is out to get the other. They are both just playing Sawyer for their own goals.

                          Yes.

And it wouldn't surprise me if Widmore has something to do with Desmond suddenly disappearing on the flash sideways flight.

I know it sounds out of this world, but Widmore has proven time and time again that he knows everything that's going on and will use his money to get what he wants done.

I don't think anyone would really be surprised if they discovered that Widmore has known about possibly alternate realities or whatever you want to call them having an affect on the Island he hopes to possess.

That's what I was thinking last night as well. Saywer said he'd bring smokoey to Widmore so he could kill him. Widmore never said what his intentions were, and he kinda smirked a little when Sawyer said the line about killing smokey, like he thought it was amusing.

I bet smokey and Widmore turn out to be allies. The whole episode was about conning people. Locke even seems to know that Sawyer is lying to him, as he said he was the best liar he had ever met.

I do believe Widmore when he said he didn't kill the plane survivors. Something else did. Could there still be more than 1 smoke monster? Widmore's group was setting up the sound barriers, but what if it was for a different smoke monster and not Locke?

That has to be the case. They aren't showing us these alternate realities for time fillers.

It's actually priced not too terribly. I'm going to order it soonish.

Doesn't ship until Aug. 25, so I'm pretty sure it will have Season 6.
