Re: *** Lost: Season 6 (Final Season) ***

hahahahahahhahaa, that is awesome. Loved this episode, can't really think of anything negative, except for the fact that whenever even shoving occurred outside my school, a huge circle would form within 2 seconds to watch and yet no one showed up even while walking into school to watch Ben and Desmond. But then again, I don't watch this show for realism, so it's not really a negative. Once again, just a fantastic episode.

As for the Locke/Desmond thing, I figured it was because he knew that Jacob would find a replacement from one of the candidates and since he can't kill the candidates himself, he wants to figure a way for Desmond to kill them.

This part had me rolling. One of the bigger plot holes I can remember in Lost.

Although I think we all know that Ben has a plan and is not going to kill everyone for Flocke. Now that Jack has been baptized he probably can't be killed by MIB and Flocke will try to convince Ben to kill Jack just like he convinced him to kill Jacob at the end of S5. The loophole, again...

You don't think it's possible Locke told Ben he'd let him control the Island so he would tell him where Widmore is and then kill him? Or that it changed after Widmore told MIB what Desmond was actually there for?

I don't think it's a plot hole - and I think at this point people are just looking for plot holes.

Are you sure about that? Do you have the name of the episode where that happened?

On Lostpedia, this is still an unanswered question.

Mysteries of the Universe is purportedly a short-lived 1982 television series that aired on the ABC network. In actuality, the brand and its episodes have been created by ABC and the Lost team in 2009 as a promotion for the final season of the show. The first video appeared on abc.com/lostmysteries on July 23, after a Kia advertisement in Entertainment Weekly magazine that same week promoted the website. Each part, released periodically over the following weeks, contained new revelations...

Part Three (I think) talks about how the Food Drops were being run out of a church and were still continuing. Eloise was based in a church (with the lamp post). So while it doesn't flat out tell you it's her - I think the very strong link makes us think it's her.

Plus - she wanted the Losties and Desmond to stay alive. Especially Desmond.

That answer makes sense although I don't think Darlton should be providing "answers" with material that doesn't even air on ABC. I remember a lot of fans were asking about the numbers and it was revealed it was the Valenzatti Equation. This was revealed in the Lost Experience so it never made it on ABC and only the hardcore fans knew about it.

ya he has literally lied to every person on the island. He probably knows what Ben wants the most and promised it to him. Ben is definitely up to something though.

I'm guessing that will be up to us.

Edit - As in, whether or not it was sad or happy will depend on the person.

I think it'll be a happy ending for people who watch the show for the characters and sad for people who watch it for the mythology. That's what I'm taking away from all these actor interviews on the late night shows.

My "obvious" guess for an ending...

Jack and Ben sitting on the beach as "Jacob and MIB" respectively, watching a plane crash (maybe Oceanic) and mentioning how it all begins again.

While it would surely piss people off, I think it ties back to the theme of "choice". Jack chose to stay, Ben chose to stay, everyone else chose love, or meaning, or protection of an innocent, or saving lives of others, or what have you. In other words, there is no end. While "fate" might bring you to a point in your life, you ultimately have the choice of what, when, and where to go.

I doubt we'll ever get an answer to what the island truly is, and the consequences of letting MIB leave and/or Jacob letting the light go out will remain in question for eternity. Our characters will just choose to keep living the "lie".
